No, it's down to Moses. The fiend. That avatar is his attempt at surreptitious humiliation. Plus, I have so many arguments with Gagger re Deans, I fear that if I offend Moses and attempt a new avatar of my own Reds-loving choice, I will be expelled forthwith and never to return. It's something I...

Good point Gnostic, of course you are right. Let's hope! A bit more on the C9 deal below: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/rugby/nines-450m-rugby-buyout/story-e6frey4i-1225856584052

Yeah, OK, but the viewership of the ABC as above and generally is small and 'niche'. C9 paid quite a bit to the ARU for these new rights, you can be assured they'll actively promote their new rugby shows and live games, all the good of the code one hopes. And IMO, C7's whole treatment of rugby...

Suncorp Stadium: Why Is It So?

You are a cruel man, tempered by rugby love.

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

You guys are closer to it all than me, but I had heard a different version. + there was definitely a view in Wallaby media and coaching land that TPN might credibly be available for the June Tests, or Tris. They certainly were not saying (in May/June) 'gee, forget TPN this year, he's 100% out'...

Suncorp Stadium: Why Is It So?

OK, looking at all the posts here and adding a thought of my own, here's my (or our?) answer to 'why is it so?' at Suncorp for the Wallabies: 1. Tightly tiered stadia designed solely for rectangular football formats and with seating v close to the rim of the playing field add hugely to the...

I think that in a funny way both you and LT are right. The league imports drew media and everyday fans attention to elements of rugby weakness or lack of a complete talent base (and made league look good indirectly), but, at the same time, there's no doubt these guys coming in drew in further...

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

Yes. If there was anything stupider than letting a key player like Genia play with a still-unfixed knee in Sydney (knee injuries can easily be worsened if not completely healed and rehabed...ask Hynes btw, someone else that should not have played in the BaaBaas with an unfixed knee), it was the...

Don't despair totally re FTA and S15...I am sure that part of this April's announced deal re C9 taking over Tris Tests etc is that C9 will include a weekly S15 highlights program, FTA!! Quote from a write-up on roar.com.au around the time of JO'Ns announcement re C9:

As you said, good idea to keep in the office, nothing domestic, that's never a good look for a rugby fan.

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

HaHa! Scarf: What about: School 1: RKCs (Radicals Kill Coaches) and School 2: the SQFs (Status Quo Fanboys) and School 3: ASGs (Always Sore Gonads). (You as Moderator need to sort this naming out asap.)

Suncorp Stadium: Why Is It So?

Perhaps not 'the best' in a technical sense, but the best 'in a thrill sense' was Higgers' try off that Genia long grubber v Bulls 2010 as Higgers the forward not only ran down two Bulls backs off a long run, but had the precision of body to get on to and control the ball first over the line. I...

Wow! And what about that wide pass that set it up! Even Coops would applaud that.

Perhaps there is School 3 - the fence sitters ;-).

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

Gagger, all noted. I especially think yr business analogy is pretty fair. I think one challenge for School 2 guys (we need some fun names for these Schools!) is: when and how do we know we have proper vindication for it? What are the KPIs that say: 'yes, here's the proof'. I think you'd agree...

Maybe too does it cause us to say that, with hindsight, Knuckles was not all bad with the Wallabies? He still gets some very harsh assessments in many quarters.

I think this is a great point in the overall scheme. I'm on record as saying that JO'N's role in the radical new design for the S15 (incl the launch of the Rebels) could well go down as his greatest strategic achievement for Aus rugby.

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

BJ, if you are an Aus rugby patriot, that game was hard to beat! I'll never forget being in near front row seats and seeing the disbelieving+distressed looks on the SA players' faces as their zero score didn't change...
