    Rebels 2013

Yep, that's sadly gonna happen. I think the Clubroom still has a picture hanging where someone was paddling around in a Kayak. I remember the last time I played with this much water was 2004, we were playing Kiwi-Hawthorn and we had a guess try scored against us because the ref couldn't see...

    Rebels 2013

The whole field at Box Hill (including the Archery) is the retarding basin for Gardiner's creek, one of the bigger ones on the east side. About 12 - 13 years ago I know the council invested in fixing the drainage on both fields; handy when one of the committee members also worked at the council...

Well, looks like 'Quins is there winner again.. http://www.melbournerebels.com.au/News/ArticleDetails/tabid/270/ArticleID/9527/Default.aspx Hope they like playing on a downward slope. Seems to be the choice for rep matches this year, but never thought it was the best ground in Melbourne...

    Wallabies Watch

Nope. Perhaps he needs a bear hug to make him happy?

    Rebels 2013

Ahh Melbourne Uni. After playing on the number 1 pitch I could never get the smell of that mud out of my kit. Flat track but very boggy for my linking - perhaps they fixed it up. I don't know about recent history, but Box Hill was always the ground for big games. They typically host the VRU...

Good idea. We can hold it at the best suburban ground in Melbourne. No guessing which one I think it is :) Might need the players to bring gumboots and a Kayak.

    Rebels 2013

Glad to see we're seen as stiffer competition than the force as the Brumbies prepare for the finals :) Somehow I think they may struggle to make it happen, but let's see what happens.

    Rebels 2014

Interesting snippit from our friends over at New ltd. Besides the fact that no other soup franchise has shown any real interest, it's not surprising to see they want JOC (James O'Connor) to stay in Melbourne. Explains a little more about Foley flip, but I think the theory about Checkia staring him down...

    Rebels 2014

So true, the old adage of 'lead by example' is very importing for fostering a good culture in any organisation. Also seems to dispel some of the myths that KB (Kurtley Beale) has already been written on the team sheet for the 'tahs next year, unless Rob is using a very diplomatic posture in public to describe...

News ltd article on Rob Clarke's appointment: http://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby-gold/melbourne-rebels-chief-executive-rob-clarke-says-club-has-a-bright-future/story-fndptz3t-1226662697705 Interesting to hear his comments on 'all players working in alignment to grow the brand'...subtle hints...

Rob Clarke confirmed as CEO until the end of 2015. Good news for the Club IMO; he brings so much experience to the table and I hope he keeps the momentum going. http://www.melbournerebels.com.au/News/ArticleDetails/tabid/270/ArticleID/9493/Default.aspx

    2013 EOYT

Think Higgers will still be in working on rebuilding that shoulder and won't be available until Soup trials next year. Bummer, want him back on the paddock as soon as possible. Please Please Please take Pyle and give him a start in a test match. Mitch Inman would be good to take and give...

    Rebels 2013

Bloody good hit, but really really dumb. Love to know why he decked him AFTER the main fight was over (or what appears to be the main fight). You would think something was said to provoke him, but can't really pick up anything on ground mic.

99 Call - who are our provincial biff merchants vs the Lions?

I tend to agree with the game time reasons more so than the foreign player reasons. He missed a lot of time due to the whole Tom Carter / eye-gouging thing and others players went up in the pecking order.

James O'Connor signs with West Harbour. WTF?

All this time up at the Pirates will be conditional on his availability after Melbourne Rebels commitments. With his time spent at Scotch College and Brimbank RFC I think he's got stuff all time to play Rugby with the Pirates. One article mentioned his desire to get back with he 'grassroots'...

99 Call - who are our provincial biff merchants vs the Lions?

Adam Byrnes (the russian guy) is off playing in europe. Guess he didn't see much opportunity behind Pyle, Neville and Jones.

Seems the be just Chris Dutton's opinion as I can;t see any quotes from Colby in there? How does he know that's his intentions? Having said that I can appreciate the logic, but don't think it's the best posture for team building.

    Waratahs 2014

Build demand, build value, build higher contract price. Fairly simple strategy, looks like it is working.

    Waratahs 2014

News limited reporting that the Doggies don't have the cash for Izzy. Looking more likely he will stick with the 'tahs next year. http://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby-gold/bulldogs-unlikely-to-have-cash-to-lure-israel-folau-away-from-rugby-union/story-fndpt9s1-1226658932018

James O'Connor signs with West Harbour. WTF?

A little bit more Georgina Robinson insight into the signing: http://www.theage.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/oconnor-finds-safe-harbour-just-not-at-the-waratahs-20130606-2ntbz.html Looks like Club Burwood is stumping up the cash and they don't really have an expectation he will be in a...
