    Rebels 2020

I went back to Scooter's post and he said "tight 5 forward".......... Still, some questions - - International as in Australian eligible but playing overseas? - International foreign marquee import not eligible? And if it's the latter, then my follow up question is............ are we still...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Yes, that is true....... and ideally both wingers should have some pace, and the Wobs are lacking in the limited options they’ve got. But it’s pretty much common practice since forever that test teams will play at least one winger that possess some fullback qualities in terms of kicking and...

Yes, all of those teams provide examples that reinforce my statement.

Off the top of my head.......... Almost every single successful test team in my lifetime.

I just assume they didn't want to be fielding angry phone calls from AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s mother.........

Wallabies v Samoa, Sat 7th September, 7.30pm, Bankwest (Parra) Stadium

The AAA brothers could potentially face off next weekend as Mike AAA will likely make his test debut for Samoa.........

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

He still needs to lock down a Super Rugby starting spot, but both times Tom Wright has played in the outside backs this year he’s looked very good......... Granted, one of those times was against the Rising yesterday (but to be fair it was at outside centre)......... he’s got speed and very...

NRC Rnd 1: Melbourne Rising v Canberra Vikings

Anyways, how good was Fred Kaihea? One to keep an eye on this year......... I don't really follow junior rugby, so had to get some background......... from my old neck of the woods and was part of that ACT Schoolboys side that won the national comp a couple of years ago. The Vikings scrum...

NRC Rnd 1: Melbourne Rising v Canberra Vikings

As BR pointed out, the Vikings are full of local players and others who have come from elsewhere and have been playing in John I Dent Cup in recent years......... But in the end all of the teams should be fielding their best available players, and the Rising made the choice not to do so today.

NRC Rnd 1: Melbourne Rising v Canberra Vikings

The Rising definitely have the upper hand with their props - even the bench options are stronger than the Vikings contingent.......... The Vikings' back 5 forwards look scary good, and a strong backline too........... but the Vikings have been known to disappoint every other year, so we'll see.

NRC Rnd 1: Melbourne Rising v Canberra Vikings

Interesting to see Wright at 13......... Ikitau injured? He was playing 10 last year for the Tuggeranong Vikings in the JID when they won the comp.

If it was just that one test match I'd give DHP the benefit of the doubt, even with his poor form all year with the Rebels......... But he was just as bad last year on the EOYT, and his match against England was possibly worse than the Bok test.

Petaia is pretty good........ but not that good, yet.

Wallabies v Samoa, Sat 7th September, 7.30pm, Bankwest (Parra) Stadium

And Petaia is out after busting his hammy.........

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Just to be pedantic........ The Brumbies were also runners up in 13, and semi finalists in 14 and 15 - they've only failed to make the finals twice (12, 18) over the last two World Cup cycles and finished above the Tahs 5/8 of those years (2012 - 2019).

Deegan needs to be playing Super Rugby though, rather than exhibition games against the Penang Panthers, Yogyakarta Yaguars or whoever.........

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Oh no, Foley has definitely played worse than that........ he’s had some absolute howlers. But, Lilo certainly hasn’t cemented his place yet......... he’s only just ahead on form.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

The Ireland pool match was the perfect example of things going wrong without a backup specialist in a certain position.........

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

The forwards selections were largely straight forward, but I think we’ll still have issues at 6.......... The AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) selection is a joke.... There’s already half a dozen centres in the squad, he’s too slow for the wing, and on form he’s simply not good enough to be there.
