Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Using that Linfield Mosman area as an example; ARU works solely with the public schools, and district clubs, and creates a zone team / academy - there could quite possibly be an a's b's & c's team. The ARU then knocks on one of the walls of either GPS, CAS etc and says can our rep team be...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

. My boy, our club loved it. My only variation to it if possible would be to target a different market. The kids who went had rugby boots. Do it through the schools from School Kindy to U9's - it might be 3 schools at once, it might be 10 to capture the numbers. NAB sponsor Auskick, okay...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

We maybe talking about a different day. This day it was about rugby and kids and that is all. I'd say upward of 750 kids aged from 5 - 12 at a guess, Super players were taking groups and running through drills dependent of age group - they left with a ball and a kicking tea. There was no...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Agree - but there are so many areas that need to be addressed from the U6's through to U21's, and each area requires a different approach. In short I'd like to see; U6 School kindy - U9 have an Auskick type program. Serious hard work and concentration has to be applied to area. I referenced...

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

I'm excited about what can be created, his career is only just getting started.

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

Fat prop Palu bent the line and took players out of the line. Skelton hit it to high and it was almost in slow motion.

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

I agree there was a huge difference in contact between Palu and Skellton.

Not long now and they've gone off the bite.

Yes, and some of the great ideas may also start getting a ray of sunshine with a bit of luck.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

QH - agree. All I'm saying is that given it appears it has been done, and yes in principle as you've said unfair practice, plus the delivery could have been improved. I'm sucking it up, and will contribute at every game i go to.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I'd like to see that much effort put into making it happen, looks good, and possibly cost a bit - but it ain't working KIS will work better Keep It Simple.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Interesting question, and where is the first (U6's?) and last step (when you head off to Japan after a distinguished career representing Aust?) Rugby is a fantastic game where you can see the world, as an amateur, or a professional. I'd love to see an U21's (U20's) NRC team to capture the...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Mums often have their little treasures play Soccor, or Aussie Rules because it is non contact and they are safe. I wonder how many non union parents are aware that; U6, & U7, is only 2 handed tag on the shorts. That they are eased into contact in the 8's.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I should have put in there it had nothing to do with Joeys at all, kids from all over the place were in attendance. They had large enough grounds - I'd say at a guess maybe 700+ kids. I referenced that as a model only that could be put to the public schools. Maybe school grounds are cheaper than...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

With regards to one, hopefully with the NRC model being put forward very shortly it tick all the boxes and we can all start banging on about the importance of number 1 above. You are right about the schools - but - last year Macquarie Bank put on a great development day out at Joeys - balls, and...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I know I haven't. Significant work needs to go into Junior Rugby Development (not just in Sydney) - This has to comes from the ARU down through the StateRU, and in Sydney the Shute Shield teams. Some great ideas have been posted on this very thread. As for the $200, I can only say Bill has...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

My take on it as well, an extra steak sanga for me each Saturday will assist with covering that small cost. I'd much rather cough up a little bit extra there and have my kids running around outside in a team than buying the latest game to play on the box. Rugby $70. Netball $100.

    Waratahs 2014

Hope so, but that was one game and live there was a lot of scrap and periods were there was no direction. Early in the season and a lot to build on. Whilst the Brumbies v Reds was watched on the box it was a lot tighter.

    Waratahs 2014

Am I looking in the wrong place, why is it the 2013 squad that is showing up at http://www.nswrugby.com.au/Waratahs/Team.aspx Just clicked on it and it takes me to the 2014 squad, but why is Drew still there, and why does it say 2013?
