    Shute Shield 2019

Yep, there are rules about this, or there used to be. If this sort of "world domination" ethic prevails, the only direction is down for the game in Sydney, IMHO.

    Shute Shield 2019

Chris Hickey had an amazing run of success until he stepped up to coach the Tahs. If Taylor does get the gig, I hope he puts his brains into gear and works out a way to strengthen the SS competition. At the moment it is totally lopsided, and nothing good can come from that. What on earth...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

There are three selectors, one of whom is senior to Chubby in the pecking order. I would not have picked AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), most of us, maybe all of us, would not have. But either Johnson or Snoz must have agreed to pick him.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

No bloody idea why AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is in the squad. I look forward to some sort of explanation.

I reckon Simmons will be there for sure.

Parra has beaten us more than once in recent years.

    Shute Shield 2019

At the end of the day it is up to those who support and play the game. And when it comes to TV, it all comes down to commercial reality. Which games rate, in other words. We can thank Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey, two rugby people, for stripping huge money from the ABC in their first budget...

    Shute Shield 2019

We keep on bloviating about the importance of western Sydney, yet when we have a golden opportunity to showcase the best of grassroots rugby we worry about having to put a bit of effort in to get to what is, by all accounts, a wonderful venue that happens to be in the demographic centre of our...

    Shute Shield 2019

It is a bit further. If Eastwood had made the GF we would have been there, and we have a lot further to travel than from Newport to Parra. It all depends how much you love the game, and your team, I guess.

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

We only watched the first half. That was more than enough. At my age I have seen far too many losses.

Skelton, Dempsey and Tom Robertson all mentioned by Chubby as possible inclusions. Waratahs all.

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

Why? I was never one for much training myself, but I venture the opinion that maybe the Darkness got their tapering wrong leading up to last week's game? They looked flat. They looked the opposite yesterday. There has to be a reason. As for Lilo muffing the kick-off, I thought immediately...

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

They have to know that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. One up and one to win the thing. SBW is the weak link.

The Rats look very strong, they are going to romp this in.

    Shute Shield 2019

There's a wonderful article in today's SMH about Nick White. Lachie McCaffrey claims credit for inveigling him to our club when he was a bit of a straggler with the Brumbies, and he set the SS on fire, leading quickly to a lot more exposure and a Test cap in relatively short time.

    Shute Shield 2019

I watched a replay of the Woodies and Beasts last night. I am really impressed with Ed Craig, Eastwood's hooker. Great accuracy at the lineout, very strong scrummager, pretty handy around the field.

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

The coaching seems to have become dramatically and quickly much more effective. Mmmm.

Haw, haw, haw. No criticism if they are home grown, mate.

    Shute Shield 2019

And so it transpired. When Foketi scored straight after the break, I thought the jig is up. After all, Easts have beaten us twice already this season, and their side is studded with pretty handy Soup players. Gee we've got some good props. Pity they are not good enough to play at the higher...
