    Blues vs Crusaders

Plus terms like Banana bender and useless gobshite when talking about reds or tahs.

About as guilty as you. Took me a while on this site to work out who Two dads, Finger and Squeaky were.

    Blues vs Crusaders

Thats funny. We in the south often refer to the North Islanders as Pig Islanders. Although we took mean and spiteful pleasure at the sight of the Blues getting smashed last year, it is a bit of an exageration to think us Mainlanders would support a West Island team over a NZ team, even if it is...

    Rugby Equipment

Combination metal and plastic studs, similar to the photo are very common over here. In my years of coaching and playing, it has only been the plastic studs that I have seen get sharp edges.

    Reds vs Hurricanes RD3

Auckland were not shabby either. They are nothing like last year's easy beats and have some serious fire power in their backline.

I hope the Highlanders reserve Hooker is practising his lineout throws.

Wallabies vs Italy - 25th Nov

I think this game will be tougher than the game against the poms. Watching them against the ABs, they gave it 100% for the whole game and did not kick away possession needlessly (mostly). I think the wobs had better not have one of their alternate performance games.

    Wallaby injuries: poor diet?

These guys are professional sportsmen, and with the well documented studies on the impact of drinking on recovery and performance, you would hope they would be moderate in the levels they imbibe. I have read all the comments before about how a few drinks deosn't hurt, but getting a skinful while...

    2012 – ITM CUP - NZ's 3rd Tier Competition

The union was in huge debt at the start of the year. Something like $2million. Things are very frugal. Hence the back to basics approach of hostels etc, which has had a great bonding effect on the team apparently. I do believe the NZRU has a degree of financial oversight over the union. They...

    NZ Super 15 Teams 2013

Can't argue with the price. ten minute walk from the car park to the stadium. Me and the boy go to every home game. Cost me more one night to buy him a pottle of hot chips and can of coke than it did to get him in. He spends more time perving at varsity chicks though. Certainly entertaining...

    NZ Super 15 Teams 2013

Dream final Highlanders V Crusaders, at the stadium in Dunedin. Would be a massive southern derby. Might have to get season tickets. Got rung up the other day and offered a deal. They were a bit shocked when I told them I prefer the Zoo stand, and if they can beat the $12.50 a seat I will buy...

    Maitland for Scotland

I think Fruean's heart condition mary require him to have breaks from rugby just to manage his health. His ITM cup has gone very well. His extra time performance against Taranaki was impressive.

    Maitland for Scotland

Fruean can be very weak on defence, which is a big no no over here. (edit: When I say weak, compared to others, like Ben Smith who he would be competing with.) I was listening to talk back on the way home last night and heard Brendan Laney talking about his experiences a few years ago. He went...

    Maitland for Scotland

Probably not, since Scotland don't play in the Super 15 and have franchises they are struggling to fill with home grown players. ;)

Still makes my point. there is so few, and not many know all of them. It is a non issue.

    Foreign recruitment

Sorry 'bout that. Hows this. It is a non-issue. I would imagine it would be hard to find a national team that has not. at some time, used a player born in another country. No one over here cares that Harris or Cooper were born in NZ. My personal bug bear is the old line that pops up,NZ...
