Brisbane City v Melbourne Rising, Saturday 6 September @ Ballymore

Yeah, hint of obstruction but really beaten by pace and not manning up. Frisby yellow carded now.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

There needs to be some re-arrangement in the Sydney teams so that the Beasts and/or Randwick go somewhere sensible. Southern could also be switched around (e.g. to Country). Another Sydney / NSW team at this point (which some were suggesting earlier in the expansion thread) would be out of...

Yeah, I simply assumed he hadn't finished with the Broncos. Holden Cup is still being played.

    Melbourne Rising 2014

What that team needs is more 12s, I only count a possible 5 of them in there.

NH Rays v NSW Country Eagles, NRC round 3

NSW Country looks to be one of the better coached sides in the comp. They are helped no doubt by the amount of experience in their pack - Treloar, Hoiles and Gray in particular. But for me it's the combinations in the backline that is impressive - for basically a scratch team they have shown...

NH Rays v NSW Country Eagles, NRC round 3

Yeah, something like that. They do the schedule in parts throughout the season, largely drive by how many ratings Nine thinks it can pull from its Friday night games. The draw is known from the start, but the schedule can depend largely on crowd interest and form.

NRC Rd 3 UC Vikings v Qld Country - Sat 6th September

Just quietly, the Vikings fullback isn't too crash hot on defence either. Although, he is a few levels above poor JJ - he at least can slow them down..... Country had a strong scrum last week, will be interesting to see them vs the Smith brothers. Holmes had no issues with JP Smith during...

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

Well, McDuling had a strong game against the Spirit if you get time to watch, but yes he needs to perform next year. There were a few strong carries by McDuling - he carried heavily, if you know what I mean. I expect that McDuling will be the bench lock for the Reds next year.

NRC Rd 3 UC Vikings v Qld Country - Sat 6th September

Lilo hasn't been very good in the NRC so far though, so maybe a switch to 10 will be good for him.

Talaki at the moment, maybe. Looked more settled vs the Spirit, particularly in the second half. BTW, thought McDuling had a decent game as well, and Wilkins off the bench too.

City scrum was under some pressure, too, from the Spirit scrum. May need a bit of work.

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

Only watched the first half vs the Spirit so far, but the City accuracy at the break down was very good. Spirit aggressively pushed the boundaries and got penalised early and painted a target for themselves, but the general cleanouts from City were pretty good I thought. Horwill, McDuling and...

Perth Spirit vs. Brisbane City - NRC Round 2, 31/08 @ UWA Sports Park - McGillivray Oval

After having watched the first half, I have to say that I was impressed with McDuling. Thought he had a good impact. Horwill's break was all Frisby as well - a snipe, offload, then Frisby backed up to take the pop pass from Horwill off the ground. Leynds looks like a real threat in the...

Brisbane City v Melbourne Rising, Saturday 6 September @ Ballymore

Unless Browning has recovered quickly, he is still a week or two away I think - initial prognosis was reported as 4 weeks.

I still thought that kenesio tape still had no scientific proven value, but am happy to be corrected.

NH Rays v NSW Country Eagles, NRC round 3

Don't think he would have done worse than their LHP last game - Qld Country gave them a bit of a working over in some of the scrums.

    Reds 2015

Matt Rogers was the classic example, lightning off the mark but average at top speed. Regarding Tui, I'd prefer not to have high hopes for him and then be surprised. I read elsewhere that Tui couldn't make the starting side for Japan when they played the higher ranked nations. As I read it on...

Perth Spirit vs. Brisbane City - NRC Round 2, 31/08 @ UWA Sports Park - McGillivray Oval

City team on paper is decent, but is loaded with injuries - e.g. their entire backrow (Gill, Browning, Schatz), halves (Genia, Cooper), centres (Tapuai, Kerevi), wing/fullback (Turner, Va'aulu). That's not to say the team they fielded isn't bad - it's practically the pick of the crop of the...
