I was sure that Simmons did his shoulder when he charged up out of the line then desperately dived at the guy's ankles, looked like he struggled for a few minutes afterwards. Massive props to Simmons if he stayed out with the fans afterwards, you can't underestimate the value of that for fans.

I think the Rising thrashing was a bit of a blow out, City defence average in the first half, but in the second half they chased the game with basketball rugby and got rightly carved up. Was the wrong tactics with plenty of silly play. Rising were always going to give City a good flogging, but...

NSW Country isn't very good, Qld Country's scrum handed it to them. Only a few minutes left, so looks like City has this, but they need one more try for the bonus point win.

City really need this game to cement themselves in the top 4. Their for and against is horrible thanks to the Rising thrashing, so they don't want to finish on the same points as anyone.

Canberra deserves Test rugby again, but I heard stories of what a disaster the Lions game there was as the logistics and facilities of aging Bruce stadium came up short. They need the new stadium quickly, or to upgrade Bruce stadium. One of the Canberrans might be able to comment better...

Easily the best half I've seen Foley play for the Wobblies, shame he couldn't find Horne for that try. And probably the worst from Folau, he really really really needs to link up more with his team.

I rate Longbottom highly too, and wish he hadn't gone, but I agree there's nothing the ARU could have done short of offering a massive top up to an uncapped player in his late 20s mid year, which is unheard of.
