    Wallabies S and C coach

Edit: He is the Head S and C coach. It says so on the ARU website, though it denotes a new appointment. Perhaps he was in Japan somewhere and only just arrived.

    Wallabies S and C coach

Who is handling the wallabies S and C at the moment? At the Wales test last night I saw a bloke I'm 99% sure was Ashley Jones (Formerly of the crusaders and All blacks) running the water. I knew Peter Harding had been moved on but I didn't know Jones was involved (though I had hoped). Have I...

    Reds 2013

Re the brad thorn idea. I was under the impression that brad had another season to play at Sanix wild knights in Japan, and was only loaned to Leinster on a short term contract during the Japanese off season to assist them through their injury crisis in the second row. In typical thorn fashion...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Dingo has done as well as could be expected with selection, and better than I thought he would, given the enormity of the task at hand. Obviously there are questions (Barnes at 10, Inclusion of Timani, Dennis over Mowen at 6 with the wales game on sat, Tomane over Vuna/Shipperley, Phipps over...

Wallabies v Wales: Name Your Best XV

Note as well that Palmer is conspicuously absent from super rugby this week. He'll play against scotland and if he does well might push for selection in tests vs Wales (probably no. 2 and 3)

Brad Thorn's gym training and physical philosophy.

Monstrous bench press for a 19 year old beanpole, one to watch indeed. (though I dare say He would have got 2 or 3 tops If his spotter had left the bar alone)

Ok, in that case, higgers performs the other roles

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

I suppose He could play scotland at 18 with Mcalman acting as lock back up? Also has good claims for the 19 jersey for wales if bam pulls up well from tuesday and could probably play 80

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Scotland 1. Slipper (cowan or holmes would've been perfect for this role over Ma'afu) 2. Fainga'a (would have preferred Hanson) 3. Palmer (ask jake to rest him, he said he would) or Ma'afu (vomit) 4. Simmons or perhaps Timani (foley might rest/bench him if asked, the tahs are finished anyway) 5...

Brad Thorn's gym training and physical philosophy.

What is he talking about when he said the canterbury gym isnt that flash? it looks great, just over the course of the video I saw Squat racks, benches, O-lifting platforms and chalk, bumper plates, large dumbell rack with the getstrength auto-spot apparatus and adjustable benches, chin up bars...

    Restarts. Beast Style.

Serious risk of spinal injury is greatly reduced by the beast's capability to hold 115kg men in the air with the strength of Hercules, and lower him safely to the ground.

Wallabies v Wales: Name Your Best XV

So let's break it down and look at the available players worth their (test match) salt in some kind of form (mostly, due consideration of previous wallaby contributions is key) based hierarchy, to help me (and others) order our thoughts. This system should auto-generate our hypothetical best XV...

Reds vs Chiefs -Suncorp Stadium 13 May

Recognise for you there Lee. I've seen Gilly play just at just about every level (school, schoolboys, U20's, 7's, Reds) and Hooper only for the brumbies but for mine Hooper appears to have the physical attributes SLIGHTLY more so (97-98kgs vs Gilly's 94-95kgs, he's also probably slightly quicker...

    aus front row

I was talking to a friend in the know a few weeks ago and he told me a little story. Gordon Tietjens (NZ 7's coach and legend of the shortened game) was stuck on who to drop from his training squad (he had 14, 2 more than he needed). So apparently he just brought the lads in at the end of one of...

The Physical Strength of Australian Players

Wasn't one of the first things said in the thread that though it seemed that our pigs were comparable to their NZ and SA counterparts height and weight wise (I feel in my gut that this is the case, no evidence though), they seemed to be less physically "strong"? Lets break it down 1. Strength...

    Reds v Stormers - Super Rugby Round 9, 2012

I just want Aidan Toua to get a run in the back 3, he acquitted himself well at 13 last week but no fireworks. He has more to offer (particularly at fullback). He's like Aplon somewhat i.e eye for space and the footwork to exploit it particularly on counterattack. That said he''s probably...

Fuck off richard we don't want you, give Link another deal, for 10 years this time though!

    Reds v Stormers - Super Rugby Round 9, 2012

    1. Holmes 6. Higgers 2. Hanson 7. Robinson 3. Slipper 8. Samo (instructed to camp 10 metres either side of the ruck and send Deysel, elstadt, 4. Simmons Liebenberg et. al crashing into the dirt behind the ad. line - he gets 35...

    Chiefs v Brumbies Super Rugby R4 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I thought Jesse Mogg was bloody outstanding. Great positioning, kicking and showed some good evasive skills. Scott fardy, Noodles and Mowen, plus Lealiifano (minus a few bloopers) and Andrew smith I thought all enhanced their reputations.
