    Galloping Greens

& The Player Points. The rule that states a player can only be discounted to 50% of their Base Value screws former International Players (20 Points base) who just want to play a bit of Club Footy after they retire.

    CAS Rugby 2016

^^^ That's why we have G&GR. Slightly irrelevant to this thread but if you think CAS website is no good, try looking on the ISA one.

Which clubs are the Class of 2011 going to?

Here is the 5 Year Report on the Class of 2011. Credit for most research work is to @RugbyReg and @Jagman, not me.

    Shute Shield 2016

^^^ This is The Year of The West. Even Billy Pulveriser has said it, and the folks from St Leonards are jumping on that. Not sure what Roger Davis said, but lets' hope the folks from Moore Park don't share his vision.

The Awful Truth About The ARU's Financial Position

This thread has become a Bean Counters field day. Almost as good as seeing G&GR lawyers whipping themselves into a frenzy on the legal rights and wrongs on the KHunt does coke Thread.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

There is usually up to about 4 or 5 AAGPS School players moonlighting in Sydney Colts competitions outside of the AAGPS competition. Similar for CAS and ISA. CCC & CHS lads have no choice but to play a full season with Colts, given that SJRU open grade footy is a bit hit and miss.

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

Beat me to it @Seymour Butz. Trained you well, I have. :) The ratios seem about right, and reasonably accurately reflect team performances throughout the Curtain Raiser Cup. Well done to the lads selected. Train hard, stay fit, listen to your coaches, and cuddle your mothers, because there...

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Club X had n points. Club Y had n-6 points. Therefore Club X has better players and will always win. Just browse the Schoolboy rep threads at selection time to realise how often the Selectors there get it wrong. Often there is the thickness of a cigarette paper between a kid who makes it and...

    Rugby.com.au Website

Looks like the Pulveriser has found a bob or two to makeover the ARU Website - rugby.com.au. Is this lipstick on a pig, or a "must read" go-to website? IMHO, in trying to be all things to all people they have missed an opportunity to improve the core things that should be on a National Rugby...

    Waratahs 2016

And will probably need to be moved to accommodate the squillion $ Kippax Lake Stadium that no current tenant of the SFS seems to want.

    Waratahs 2016

How absurd was it to spend $40m on bribes for FIFA officials in a Quixotic endeavour to try and secure more than 1 vote for the Diveball world cup?

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Diveball is making inroads and may have more teams, but based on realible information from last year, they may have less players in the big Private School Sporting Association schools. It is close and the gap is getting narrower. The CCC, AICES and non aligned private schools probably have a...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Perhaps ARU should do an exit survey on players who were 2014 "participants" that did not sign up for 2015. One of the benefits of owning the national regustration database is that they can send out a personalized email to all of those who decide to hang up their boots from year to year...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

^^^^Who are they? Has the team been announced yet, or is it just the players talking? I'm only expecting to see about 6 from NSW make the "cut". This hasn't been a good year for NSW. Injuries and rugby 7s contracts have also impacted.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

A 7% drop in club XV numbers and an 8% increase in club 7's numbers. I work with numbers, and will often revert to quoting percentage increases/decreases to obfuscate otherwise unpalatable numbers. This is a standard spin doctor technique. I wonder how many club XV numbers have been lost due...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

@Rugby Reg, By those rules are Joey Fittock, Izzak Rhodda, Reece Hewat, & Lukhan L-Tui considered to be NSW players? There are quite a few U20 eligible schoolboy players plying their trade with the Brumbies and Rebels as well as Shambeckler has done with the West. The Ponies made no secret of...

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Could it be that the hooker for the Woodies just happens to have the same name as the Former Avoca Beach junior. Discounts are also available if a sibling was at the club the previous year, or if they are the son of a former player. "How is a club to know if a player was at DIV I Schoolboys...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

For once, luck may be with the Young Men In Gold. According to wikipedia, we are in Pool B with England (2nd in 2015), Scotland (8th in 2015) ans Italy (11th in 2015). In an extremely rare stroke of luck , these three teams were 4th, 5th and 6th in this years 6 Nations Under 20 Tournament...

    Shute Shield 2016

Something about monkeys, typewriters, the complete works of Billy Shakespeare. Gotta get some right sooner or later.:) Josh Holmes seconded to the Sevens for Singapore. Rats chances take a bit of a dive without Josh at 9. The team sheets from the have recorded Luke Hilmes as playing No 8 for...
