    ISA Rugby 2016

^^^ Don't see it happening. There's more to GPS Rugby than just the rugby. It's the prestige, history and tradition that those schools share with each other. The results are very much secondary to that.

Do you have a match report oakhilldad?

Good on em! As mentioned before, ISA would be dull if it always boils down to a two horse race. It's always a good thing having numerous teams vie for the top position.

Agreed. But if this season is the shot in the arm I'm led to believe their program needs then so be it. Success begets success, so if they can have a season where they get more wins than losses, it might help drive participation and their numbers will be up which is a great thing.

A couple of upsets there! Well done KWS and Stannies!

Yes its certainly a challenge trying to find out who's done what. It's saying they've played 10 games already!

Congrats Pius! Great to hear they've got some good results under their belt.

Pats thirds went down by 2 and had the opportunity to draw level on full time with a conversion. 2nds were in it until a dust up in the second half then Auggies ran away eith it after that.

Heard on the grapevine that the two round format will include a combined Gregs/Pius fixture. Not combined teams, just a combined fixture so that Gregs and Pius teams essentially make up one lot of opposition for an opponent to play. Not a bad idea. I wonder if that's what Grammar and High do now.

Th trips to Bathurst, Bowral and Goulburn (back in the day) were the most enjoyable part of playing Rugby away from home. As a player I loved it.

2016 ISA Waratah Shield and inner ear infections

And it's fair enough too. If you're trying to get a Rugby program off the ground, enter the Waratah Shield, and then draw Auggies or Oakhill in round one, there's no way you're going to want to expose your fledgling group to the whalloping you're about to receive. It would be counter productive...

2016 ISA Waratah Shield and inner ear infections

Good point. From what I can gather, opinion seems pretty split about that point down there. I think removing particularly eddies from the comp would be a good thing to even out everyone else down there. I think there's more scope for the ACT to engage more fully with the Southern Inland comp and...

2016 ISA Waratah Shield and inner ear infections

High performers should not be ridden to the ground Agreed - I feel a lot of school associations sacrifice the well-being of their students to get a short term result on the paddock Social players or team members from schools with a less developed rugby capability should be able to play...

2016 ISA Waratah Shield and inner ear infections

Sadly - the role that Rugby plays in the two closed associations only forms part of a total education experience. Whilst we look at it from the outside looking in, we can see that a promotion relegation system would work wonders for all Saturday sport Rugby schools, but the branding that the CAS...

You've got to admire the logistics that go into ISA Rugby. Getting regular matches week in week out against comparable opposition must be a massive task in itself and then you factor the travel with it. Good work sportsmasters

Predict that Pats will struggle against the BYE but will prove too strong at home :)

    ISA Rugby 2015

^^^^ There's more knowledgeable heads considering this team but from an outsiders point of view (and parochial St. Pat's fan) I would think the ISA could consider themselves hard done by with only two starters in the run on 1sts. Having said that, I wouldn't like to be a selector trying to...

I know people who live on the northern beaches are enamored with the place but refusing to poo anywhere else other than your beloved Brookvale is taking things a bit far!
