You're correct Sam. Ben was a lovely young man and he comes from a great family. That is correct about Apenisa Happy. He is only 17 this year. He went to Griffith North Public and now Griffith High. It's not easy to make those type of rep teams from rural government schools.

An excellent preview as usual Sam. The key question for me is which Griffith turns up. I reckon the team to watch in 2018 will be CSU. Much to admire about the way they have stuck together through the tough times.

I'm not sure about the bonus point situation Bandar. I was only thinking that Blacks would finish 1 win ahead of Leeton. You know what you're talking about and I really don't. It is pretty obvious that Blacks probably would have beaten CSU in 2nd grade so obviously not only wont we be getting...

That's not too much of a problem for the Blacks 1st grade namtrak, we are 0 from 13 and have very few points to dock.

Just from having a look at the Brumbies by laws it looks as though a team has to have 3 forfeits before it has to leave a competition. Counting next week that would only be 2 for the Blacks 2nd grade so we should be safe. Even after next week by my reckoning we should still finish 3rd.

I don't understand what questions exist Sam about team eligibility?

Happy, only 1st grade and our girls teams will travel to Beres Ellwood Oval next Saturday to oppose CSU. No Sam we won't need to borrow any Reddies players. It looked to me that Waratahs got a real shock last week and CSU might be well advised to expect a similar performance this week.

Happy, it doesn't sound as though Albury have much of a club culture bringing just 17 players to Leeton for 2 grades does it? Griffith did have quite a few more than that. We tried to close the age gap between our juniors and seniors by pushing for a 16s age group. Us and Temora were the only...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

Already this year Leeton have beaten CSU 92 - 0 and Albury 107 - 0. Any comments about disrespect for the jersey there? Our 2nds are coming 3rd while CSU and Albury 2nds are coming 2nd last and last respectively. Any talk of shame to their sporting community. Not likely. Our juniors are strong...

I had an attempt at tipping last week albeit a touch unsuccessfully. I think the upset of the round will come from Aggies surprising City. The Uni teams will be strengthened after the holiday break but I still can't imagine CSU troubling Waratahs to any great degree. The Steamers may be a little...

I do enjoy your previews Sam, but not enough to post that fact six times. Trouble with my computer. And Happy the Leeton/CSU game is in Wagga. CSU are an improving young side with nothing to lose. Leeton had their game of the season last week. They might relax a little this week. I reckon it...

I really look forward to reading Sam's form guide on Friday evenings. I think Albury might surprise City, Leeton just over CSU, Aggies to push Tahs and Griffith in an upset over Tumut. Come back Sam.

I know it's a loss but it still seems like an outstanding result.

I don't have anywhere near the the intimate knowledge of the rugby landscape that you have Mauler. From what I can see is that the problem doesn't lie with the quality of our SIRU team. It lies with who we play. We ideally should be playing against a number of teams over a weekend. The teams...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

OK Mauler. I'm probably wrong and I don't have a problem with you correcting me if I am. Didn't we play Far South Coast for example because they lie in Brumbies territory. They are inferior to SIRU. I don't really know about Monaro but I'm guessing they are better quality than FSC but still...

Gee that's a brave prediction Francis. If FSC/Monaro has proven to be such a future sustainable rep structure why have so few FSC/Monaro players been included in the Brumbies Provincial squad.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

Well done to the SC/Monaro rep team being beaten today but putting in a formidable performance against Southern Inland. 41 - 13.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

I can see where people are talking this game up as a contest. It won't be. The FSC/Monaro team wouldn't beat a lot of the Reserve grade teams in this comp. 50+ A waste of weekend rugby in SIRU.

Did anyone see the Blacks /Aggies game? Blacks seem to have improved significantly to lead 22-5 at 1/2 time. After that it was all Aggies. Did Blacks lack player no.s and have players backing up from their 2s or did Aggies really get their act together after 1/2 time?

I see your point Bandar. I do have an issue with the importation of players into sporting clubs in rural areas. I live in Griffith and follow the Blacks. I have no idea of what is happening in Leeton. However when rural town sporting clubs replace local players with imported (usually paid)...
