Nah, I think they just need to address how slow the ball comes out of the ruck. I think teams kick less if they have less time to set-up. How on earth it got to this 2 man caterpillars plus a blocker is crazy. The ref should call 'use it' as soon as it's available then u got 3 seconds or its...

I assume there would be similar stats for attacking teams giving away penalties, which are probably lower than a regather off a box kick. So teams are box kicking more.

    Wallabies 2023

I think it's simple logic. Teams are playing smarter now it's in the professional era. I think the stats are clear if you kick it 40metres the opposition have an easy catch and run it back 15m = 25m gain but loss of possession. If you box kick = the same 25m gain but a chance of regather or...

I think Tate's kicking has got a lot better. Gordon's is over-rated. Gordon kick numerous bombs that traveled about 5 meters. Tate kicked a nice 50/22 in his cameo's. White still better then both by some margin. but yeah, Tate's passing needs some work, and overall game-management/decision...

Awesome stats. Shows some really interesting patterns. Foley's error rate still a worry. Porecki's error rate a surprise and interesting. Makes me lean towards FF (Folau Fainga'a) as first choice Hooker. He has more impact around the park and stats say less errors. Samu, Ikitau, Valetini, and AAA cementing...

Yeh but my point is, you shift Kellaway to the wing. In which case, Kellaway and/or Banks IS a huge step-up from Wright or Petaia. EDIT: Banks is easily in the top 3 conversation. He was the incumbent after all. Just.

I think it was fair both White and Gordon got there chances. But given both haven't set the world alight. Surely Tate now gets his chance.

I think Kellaway is doing well at fullback. He is so cool, calm and collected he really fits into test rugby well. He's probably a better test fullback then Banks, but he's also by far a better winger then Banks. So think a back three of 11. Koro 14. Kellaway 15. Banks is the best option we...

Good point. Last week we got parity and even dominance at times. It's crazy how inconsistent it is. For me, Valetini is the only one who gets a pass mark. Samu probably now too but only started two games. Maybe AAA gets a pass too, just. Our other front row, locks, blindside, are all average...

Absolutely. I think Robbie Deans was onto something when he said the players 'need to play what's in front of them'. It seems the guys just follow the structure/game-plan, or attempt to, but forget to play what's in front of them. They just seem to lack the ability to think for themselves and...

    Refereeing decisions

Nice points. But I do challenge your idea. The rules won't be perfect but if they make the game better 'most of the time' then they should be changed. I would say teams are currently trying to get guys in the air 9 times out of 10, on the occasion they don't, like trying to defend a maul on...

So we got Koro (who is also prone to a few bad decisions and errors), Ikitau, and Kelleway being test quality. A winger, outside centre and fullback/wing. Even if we had the best 13,14,15, in the world we aren't going to win matches if our 9 and 10 aren't performing. These guys really need to...

I think you're onto something. NZ have always been able to adapt quicker then us. We always seem to roll out the exact same game-plan. Cheika was probably the worst at this, but it seems Rennie is doing this too. England series a good example of when this happened. The Argentina loss, and now...

Agreed. A card was fair. it was dangerous. Just like it was last week. The inconsistency continues.

yeah I think Wilson was probably more to blame then Holloway there. You can see Holloway let go of his right arm but it was too late. Not a lot he could have done there. I thought Wilson started the lift.

    Refereeing decisions

I have a better idea. Repeated infringements lead to a penalty try. They get an automatic 7 points but there are no cards and it's still 15 v 15 rugby. I would say a card and penalty try is pretty on par in terms of disadvantage for the team - a penalty try probably worse IMO. But at least...

    Refereeing decisions

Yeh dangerous play should always be a penalty. I feel yellow/red cards should be reserved for dangerous play. I don't understand why we are seeing so many cards now for repeated penalties? Or what they deemed as cynical play? I find is hard to believe players are getting worse in this...

    Refereeing decisions

I like the clocks. Would also love to see some leeway with quick taps. Why are refs so pedantic that a quick tap needs to be 'on the mark'. They should allow a quick tap anywhere behind the mark. More rules to get the ball in play quicker and for longer I say. Also, for line-outs, if the...

    Refereeing decisions

We should also be taking away scrum penalties. The goal of a scrum was to give both teams a chance to compete for the ball after there is a knock-on. The outcome of a scrum these days is: 1. Team feeding wins the scrum 2. Team feeding wins a penalty 3. Opposition team wins a penalty Thats it...

    Refereeing decisions

Just lead to more scrums and they are the biggest time-consuming part of the game. Reset after reset. Boring to watch. They need to call "use it" and then say "balls out" and then it's deemed general play and let the opposition come over and pick it up.
