    Brumbies 2024

I'm a huge Jahrome Brown fan, he's probably our best poacher and most natural 7, but if he's not getting game time (22 starts, 9 sub appearances out of a possible 47 games in the last three years) and we aren't actively planning to keep him, best to let him move on. Hopefully he gets a good gig...

Exactly Strewthcobber, that's my fear. Maybe ten Rebels players get signed by the other Aussie sides before anyone gets cut or misses out on a renewal, but then it's just a slaughter. So good luck to any team trying to get a big money player, and well done Tahs for landing Kellaway before...

    Brumbies 2024

If we assume that each Aussie Super Rugby team will get about $2m extra per annum from Rugby Australia, then I could have seen us going in for Leota (add quality to quality) and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (replace Swain, give us yet another flexible lock-6), then go for misc depth with Jack Maunder, Nick Jooste (welcome home...

    Crusaders (NZ) Rugby Team Thread.

Stan Sport claiming it was the first time since 2001. Seems they forgot about the Crusaders missing out in 2015 despite having more points than the Sharks. Is it funnier to laugh at them being bad or laugh at them missing out even when they're good? Either way I'm laughing.

I wouldn't be shocked if total revenue for a home finals game was even less than that. 2022 (most recent) financial report has hospitality as a separate line item to match day operations, so food & bev probably falling into match day. Regardless, averaging about $100k a game for each, though...

    Celebrating the Rebels

Favourite player was Tamati Ellison, he was a ton of fun to watch and ridiculously solid. The Rebels always looked so much better when he was on the field. I feel like there was a continuity break for the Rebels after 2017. Mentally, I didn't really think of them in the same way afterwards. So...

Big (and from what we've seen well deserved) hype about Ikitau's ability, big chance he's our 13 in 2030 (if Super Rugby still exists).

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Having a 12, 13, and 15 who do their job means you can get away with a 10 who is an acceptable-but-nothing-special defender. And you can coach anyone with a decent work ethic to that level of defensive ability. Likewise, having another goalkicker in the team allows you to overlook that gap in...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I was just pretty explicit in my cancellation message to Kayo: more Rugby = more money from me. No Rugby = no money from me.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

"Give us money or the NRL final won't be in NSW forever!" Mate, there might not be an NRL for a while.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

We've all got to be pretty big Rugby fans to be here on the forums as often as we are, but surely we've got enough sense to see that what is being done by the AFL and NRL is not reasonable. The NBA, MLB, and NHL are all much bigger than the AFL or NRL, but they've not been able to convince...

Glad to see Simmons is filling that Quade shaped hole on the forums, every discussion has to come back to him these days!

You generally don't end up on the wrong side of a 10-1 penalty count after an hour without having poorer discipline. I think Rasta was a bit whistle happy in both 22s in this game, and not consistently either. I don't think very highly of him as a ref. It feels like a lot of refs have given up...

    Wallabies 2020

He's had this form in his wheelhouse since his days with the Rebels, glad to see it's coming back. Even if he isn't starting, knowing how to make an impact off the bench is super important, and it could make him the perfect bench scrumhalf. I'd still be starting him for Aus though.

I still have no idea how McIntyre was considered a better 10 than Greene. It's insane.

Having young guns in the squad is good for the older heads too: perform or these guys will replace you.

    Wallabies 2020

We have to consider the long term impact on younger players if we pick them too early. They might be the best right now, but throw them in the deep end too early and we can mess with the long term confidence of players. If it's marginal gains, pick the old player, don't mess with the young star...
