Siakisini didn’t have a great game in the Major Semi . Multiple handling errors and miss directed passes . The backline looked a lot more slick once he was replaced and reshuffled to it’s current arrangement. Think he will be better suited once the game opens up a little.

That’s up on Rugby Xplorer, so who are the “big ins “ for Wests ? Or will they name yet another team that doesn’t translate to match day?

Probably already said , but Holloway to #4 could be the main reason behind Samu’s selection at #7 over McReight. What you lose with Holloway at lineout time, you gain with Samu in terms of who else could have been selected. 4/5/6&7 all lineout options . Hopefully Holloway’s work in the middle...

Read an article on that game this morning written by Jim Tucker. Tim Lane reckons he doesn’t know as hit got whacked by Jeff Miller late . Lane also quoted as saying Fitzgerald told him he would have awarded Wests a penalty anyway for the late hit by Miller. They all still argue about it apparently.

Yeah he was due to play at GPS for his first season out of school. A mate of mine was in the Colts’ coaching set up there at the time. He got offered a scholarship at UQ from memory, which means he was open to conversations.

Neither named for Bled 1 so could see both McDermott and Vunivalu in the GF. Petaia named on the bench. Not great for the Reds to only have two in the team , both off the bench.

Was impressed with the #8 for Barker, Lachlan Hooper. He is the younger brother of Tom Hooper who got a fair amount of game time with the Brumbies at #6 this year and is only 21. Lachlan well worth keeping an eye on.

The importance of the locks in how the scrum is performing often gets overlooked. It's called a tight five for a reason and there has been a fair bit of rotation through the locks this year with UQ. No doubt missing Connor Vest in that roll.

This weekend will make seven straight Grand Final appearances for UQ and nine appearances since 2010, that’s crazy consistent. Since 2016 they’ve played GPS three times , Brothers twice , Easts and now Wests once.

Actually thought Creighton looked good at 10, hopefully the Reds handle his development there. Has been a bit of a jack of all trades, which can be an issue with not playing enough of one position regularly. Would like to see how he goes with game time at 10.

Other than the try he scored against Brothers last year in the dying minutes of the semi final that got UQ into the GF. That’s from a UQ perspective obviously…..

GT got up 15-14 over TGS, penalty in the last few minutes to take the lead and held on for the win.

UQ Colts 2&3 both through to the GF. If Brothers get up tomorrow Colts 1,2&3 will all be Brothers v UQ Grand Finals.

Just noticed Tom Moloney is on the bench again this week for Brothers. Who has been taking the captain’s duties?
