But why would they support Rugby or the Rebels? This isn't field of dreams

    Wallabies 2024

And he will struggle as he hasn't played much rugby lately and then will be dropped again It's a vicious circle that inevitably means Lolesio gets infinitely more chances despite never showing us anything

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Melbourne is far more saturated. AFL attendance figures in Melbourne dwarf NRL attendance figures in Sydney & Brisbane. The scale & intensity of AFL support in Melbourne is unrivaled. 15% of Melbourne is a member of an AFL club Sure, theoretically they could support other teams in other comps...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

What's the alternative? That RA encouraged the Rebels to trade insolvent for 6 years?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Complete Apples and oranges. Brisbane has 1 AFL team & 2 NRL teams so it is actually untapped And both Brisbane & Sydney have a rusted on Rugby culture that Melbourne simply does not have

I could allege that you're really a Tah's fan. Doesn't make it true

There are 717,000 registered members of the 9 Melbourne based AFL teams, that's not including the extra 90,000 members of Geelong That's almost 15% of the total population of Melbourne

    Wallabies 2024

His reluctance to bring Donaldson on would suggest otherwise
  12. Tomthumb

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Melbourne has 27 professional sports teams. Calling it untapped is absolutely wild

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

People don't have unlimited bank accounts to spend on said teams though. Nor do most people have interest so so many different sports

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Having a tiny yet expensive presence in a vastly oversaturated market is hardly business savvy
  15. Tomthumb

    Wallabies 2024

Happy for Edmed. Bit weird though, Schmidt barely gave Donaldson or Lynagh a chance with through his persistence with Noah

    Wallabies 2024

Scotland are better than England IMO. Both winnable games

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Is it? Super 12 did just fine without Melbourne. AFL owns that city, end of

    Wallabies 2024

Meh, their coach’s can’t even get along and I maintain England aren’t that good. It’s a winnable game
  19. Tomthumb

    Wallabies 2024

Are England that good? Sure Ireland will be a tall task, but the others are all winnable games for a supposed world class coach that has had a fair amount of time with the players now

    Wallabies 2024

I’ll judge him on it as he’s genuinely a good coach and it’s his job to change it He deserves more time but if we dish up the same on the end of year tour that we did in the Rugby Championship it would be a huge disappointment
