    Southern Inland Rugby 2024

Great club. Big numbers of young people who train and play hard, on and off the field. Rare to find anyone over the age of 25 or so at the club. It is highly unlikely there would be remuneration. Would be somewhat rare for most clubs in the region.

Seems like a worrying time in the SIRU competition. Lop-sided scores. Steamers only fielded first grade yesterday. No seconds or women. Deni sadly have withdrawn from the 3rd grade competition. Looking forward to the rep program this coming weekend. Haven't heard any news about it but hope it...

Is it a sad day in our competition when there are two 100 point wins?

1sts seems like an interesting comp. City seems to be the standard bearer to date. Looking forward to them playing Aggies. Unsure of Tahs credentials after having near 70 put on them by City. Middle tier may be close: Leeton, Tumut, Reddies and Albury. Griffith by themselves in the bottom tier.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2024

This is disappointing as the Drovers did such a great job with the club last year getting back and playing well in first grade. Deniliquin decision forces Southern Inland to revisit draws A lack of player numbers have forced Deniliquin to withdraw from the Southern Inland first grade...

This is great news about the Phantom's return but I hope all of these efforts are working towards a sustainable future for the club not just 50th anniversary celebrations.

Tips for mine: 1's: Tahs 2's: City (Heart says Bulls) Womens: Griffith 3's: Cutters

Aggies are a super impressive team with so many committed players. The big thing that lets them down is age and experience. Tumut absolutely destroyed their scrum earlier in the season and I hate to think what City's scrum would do.

Stop the competition and go straight to the City v Tahs GF. Their game today was outstanding. They are many classes above anyone else in the competition. It was an engrossing game with both teams having their chances but City's scrum was scary great. I have never seen an opposing prop get lifted...

They are always strong in juniors and regularly have teams in all SIRU juniors competition. Their older teams draw from boarders at Yanco Ag and St Francis which may be an issue when they leave school and do not move onto seniors with the Phantoms.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2023

Saturday evening was a very enjoyable game. Good standard of rugby and great to see teams of this calibre in our region. I thought the crowd was disappointing and perhaps having the game in Griffith the week before kept Wagga's crowd low. Apparently Wagga Juniors are bringing the Classic...

Finger food provided. I am staggered at this. Depends on what the aims of each event were. Griffith would have been to promote rugby. Wagga to fundraise.

I have heard the same thing. Both SIRU coaches from 2022 coaching Tahs. Will be interesting to see what impact this has on rep coaching appointments in 2023.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2023

Apparently there are a substantial number of Fijians coming to Deni to work at the abattoirs and due to the type of visa they have there is a requirement that they be involved with local sport or activities. No idea of the quality. Leeton will be their seconds and womens team and Deni will play...

Did you put your hand up for the board Bubba? Exciting news from the meeting is that there will be a new team to the first grade comp in 2023. Welcome to the Deni Drovers!

If anyone is offering $1.70 on City I would snap it up. The recent loss to Tahs may have been the loss they needed to have and will refocus them for the premiership push.

Tahs forfeited seconds and thirds in Griffith yesterday. How the mighty have fallen. Will be interesting to see if their 3rd grade team gets the boot from the competition.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

Tumut have been approached in the past to join the one team Central West comp but weren't interested. I can see why this competition may be appealing to Leeton in their present situation. A move back to NSW Country/Waratahs would be disastrous. Regional areas under their control have had their...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

Similar to most sports, it is the older age groups where SIRU juniors drop off. Apparently only one club, Griffith, have their own Under 16 side. The rest of this age group is combined sides (Wagga/Leeton, Albury/Tumut, Young/Temora etc). It is very handy for the juniors that the likes of Coota...

$1.20 max. And yes I agree Sportsbet would be paying out already. I just can't see therm being challenged. Tahs may have only lost once but have only just won all their other games. Griffith, you just don't know what you are going to get. Will be interesting to see what resistance the Steamers...
