Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

It's technically Sunday night if you live in a superior Eastern state that cares about its cows and curtains ;)

    Wallabies 2024

@The Marketing Pigeon is this a declaration of war?

    Wallabies 2024

I'm by no means in the know, but whether it be an illness, event, or something else entirely, I don't think that makes it dubious - a couple of weeks away with the Reds is a lot less of an ask (and in much closer proximity) than a possible 6 weeks give or take in Europe with the Wobs/Aus A.

    Lions Tour 2025

Look, I could be wrong and I'm sure Payten has done his research and pulled a list from somewhere - and I feel terrible if I've made an uninformed comment - but I was also surprised and have known the family for over 25 years.

    Lions Tour 2025

Just as an aside in relation to that list, I have known Isaac and the Henry family well for a long time and I don't believe there is any indigenous heritage, so probably isn't up for consideration. I'd say the confusion is due to Isaac being one of the seven Indigenous Program ambassador for the...

November Internationals (excluding Wallabies & NZ)

Understandable, but wrong decision imo. It's so clear that Gatland's got all-but-a-toe out the door, is demotivated (and demotivating), at a loss for what to do, and has probably lost the change room. I'm sure his heart is still in it, and will do his best to attempt to right the ship while...

@mods where did the PVL (The Horse Racing Guy) shortcut go :(:(

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Maloney doesn't get enough credit imo - he brings some life to the what can often be monotonous play-by-play commentary, but leaves the proper colour commentary and 'expert' (not sure that word applies to all who fill that role) opinion to the others. Plus, he's not shy to hang a bit of shit on...

    Wallabies 2024

Yep, and there were a couple of occasions in a few minute period where he looked quite ginger - I was specifically watching for it after reading the match thread prior to watching the game. From the very few seconds of broadcast when he was pictured, and given his recent history, my money's on...

Not getting enough kudos imo - a 'quiet' game by his standards (i.e., limited superstar moments like big pilfers, line breaks, supporting runs, etc.), but has reaffirmed he can play the game of the toiler. Head down, make your tackles, hit your rucks, and be a constant presence.

Anyone noticed who's been calling the line out recently? Has Wilson been bumping his own stats?

Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

Doleman could be heard saying after the try that the one on the Welsh 12 was indeed worthy of a penalty (but no more). Agree he was very lucky the no-wrap shoulder wasn't looked at further, and I'm pretty sure there was another as well...

Probably time to Rule 10 this, so last post on it from me. The referee has the discretion to stop the game if they believe foul play has occurred, or they can let it play (typically as a penalty advantage) and have it be reviewed concurrently. That is the protocol, and that is what happened...

There was clear head-on-head - the leading hand to the face prior made the head contact look far more forceful in real time. You can understand why the game was stopped for seemingly an incident of foul play, and I find it bizarre that the handling of this incident is what you're hanging your...

You're referring to the clean out on Kerevi, where there was in fact head contact? You can absolutely understand why that was seen as dangerous, and it was perfectly adequately managed. That call came from - or was at least affirmed by - the AR on the near sideline, by the way.

    Designated Messiah Watch: Joseph Sua'ali'i

I briefly mentioned this in the match thread, but man, JAS really needs to get the 'loig' out of his tackling. In his 15-odd minutes, I think he made 3 tackles and a clean out - of those, he had a direct shoulder (dangerously close to the head) with no wrap, a tackle around the neck, and another...

Yeah, South Africa ain't gonna be pretty. Gatland basically gave his resignation speech in the post-match. It's very clear he thinks it's best for him to go, but the higher-ups do not see it that way.
