    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Rebels probably tipped off that bad press was coming.

I'd be surprised if the drop weren't substantial, given you're eliminating your second biggest TV market. SRP (Super Rugby Pacific), to me, is revenue generation first, then player development second. On that criteria, maximising broadcast revenue is the (arguably) the best way way to generate the revenue...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

This is getting to a pedantic argument, but fresh from the site. The headline doesn't match the subtext. Go figure they don't have decent copy editors anymore.

That's exactly my point - first it was in VA, then in danger of VA, then back to in VA - the message keeps changing.

12:58 - REbels now only in danger of going to VA. How quickly the headlines turn. Fucking NewsCorspe rags cant even their messging right

The comms we received during the 2017 culling were far stronger and combative. Drafted by a lawyer with strong comms experience. It showed fight, passion, and resistance. What this letter is feels no stronger than an auto-reply email message. Says two things - this whole affair is a beat-up...

It is nothing more than a basic comm template to say, "We see the media speculation, we don't completely disagree with it, and we commit to keeping you updated", - but providing no actual update. Clearly, they can't provide more detail at this point, but they need to change the narrative fast...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Dunno what level of BS, truth, or contract negotiation lever should be attached to this rumour, but flagging it with the QLD brain's trust for views.

Same for BH - it's a feeder basin for Gardiner's Creek. I expect it would have been smashed over the last few weeks. It's likely to be Goshs or Albury, given that most suburban grounds are in varying states of fitness and availability. Would be great PR to host it a suburban ground, and the...

EH is possible, but I have never enjoyed the Field 1 surface. PH Juniors has a nice deck; I just hated last year's finals experience, where I had no space to run warm-ups (I was literally in the garden bed). Rhinos, much like Quins - a big cricket pitch in the middle. Probably your best bet...

Most of them share the fields with Cricket teams, so they wouldn't be readily available. Agree the surfaces are like bowling greens, but they now have an added pitch in the middle for most of term 1.

Usually an annual thing. We're trying to work our pre-season field placements - my boys will start back in late Jan.

It won't be Quins. New surface works to start soon.

We can also spend too long trying to find the "best" solution. In my game, the best doesn't exist, and procrastination/perfection will invariably inhibit progress. Sure, some planning must go into a viable future state, but we need to get on with it. Try something to see how it goes - if it...

This is one of the most important things we must consider to grow the financial stability of Rugby. Seven games for our professional teams is not enough for the fans who want to see high-quality games for most of the year, the playing squads who want meaningful game time, and our clubs who need...
