    Australian Rugby / RA

I wouldn't mind seeing something like a U23s team formed and included.

Will be interesting to see when this is played. Would be great as a lead in to the November tests.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Yeah, there's surely another teams worth of players in NSW that are capable of providing more competition at this level.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Issue with these kind of drubbings is that it does little for the development of the team dishing them out. Watching the first half and the Tahs 16s were walking over the gain line and cutting the Brumbies to pieces. In defence they weren't troubled much.

    Sydney Subbies 2025

That's not a new thing. My last season was at that level was 18 years ago and the November 'optional' preseason was a thing then. We'd finish in September. Have 4 weeks off and then back at it.

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

    Really. Shit.

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

There was actually an article about this a couple weeks back in relation to the next NRL deal. The concern is the FTA networks are operating on very thin margins and that the well of funds may be reaching their limit in terms of growing its current deal in any significant way. So there may be a...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

I was watching and commented to my brother about the size of the NSW and Qld U16s. Large bunch of lads.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Mismanagement from the Rebels back of house and RA not having near unlimited funds in order to prop them up/bail them out.
  10. WorkingClassRugger

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

    Melbourne failed Melbourne.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Which means the mismanagement has been present for a long damn time. And how have the other franchises managed to not run up similar debts? They have the same funding and would also have operational costs. Yet even the Tahs with who many tried to use as an example of a club having similar debts...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Do why now why the Chairman's business went under? Not paying their bills perhaps.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

So the bulk of the debt was incurred before COVID. And before PE investment was even in discussion. And didn't RA in their statement say they provided $35m in funding between 2018 until they went into administration. Am I missing something here. Doesn't this essentially prove it was those...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

These scores only reinforce my belief that both NSW and Qld should be running two squads in both age groups.

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

I knew a guy who got $500 a game playing in the Macarthur comp.

Having no NRC is better how?

There are currently more Melbourne born/raised professional players than there are Canberrans. All of which came through their club system.

Having no NRC is better how?

I'd tweak it a bit. Add in the winner of the Canberra comp and move the Melbourne rep squad up to the 1st div. Two 7 team pools. Top 3 go to the finals. Winner of each pool straight through to the major semi. Second place from each pool plays the third place team from the other to determine who...

    League Targets

Lol. Pretty much. The trick was to limit the amount of ball they had. Which meant we'd play to our strengths which was our pack. Suited me as a Prop. That and they played wing and fullback so we'd move out 15 being our best backline defender up to wing and he'd usually win that contest.

    League Targets

They were but they weren't tearing games apart. Well, not in the games I played against them at least when my club, Campbelltown, and Wollongong Tech dominated our age group.

    League Targets

I didn't need to read about it. I actually used to play club Rugby against and rep Rugby with them.
