    Wallabies 2024

If Kerevi is fit then I think Schmidt will find a way to include him. Even if it means pushing Sua’ali’i back to wing or 15 (and Wright to 14). The prospect of having a fit and firing Kerevi, Ikitau, Sua’ali’i & Wright combining is tantalising. No question. But I just don’t think this is the...

    Wallabies 2024

Samu does have 49 test caps and 10 yrs experience as a pro. We’re talking about the difference of him playing 2 extra games 8 months out.

Agree. But even more so just aiming to win every individual test we play in would be a real plus at the moment. It’s been a long time before we’ve been able to consistently string good performances back to back. So far we are on a winning sequence of 1. Let’s just focus 100% on making that 2.

Or just play Kerevi off the bench. Sometimes the most obvious solutions are the best.

I guess that was just my way of saying I didn’t think moving Sua’ali’i into the lineout was likely or (IMO) a good idea. I understand Rassie has a bit of a Midas touch at the moment and likes to go rogue but I’d just rather we work on being really good at core roles than try and find ways to...

It would seem to be the best option for everyone for Toole to play in the Australia A game. Whereas Flook has already played some tests so less imperative to see him play Australia A and probably a bit more comfortable if he ended up being called into the 23 last minute (which I assume is...

Only if Faessler can safely throw it that far

I agree. Although I also get the temptation with Kerevi. Last time that he was match fit he played half a dozen games and was a finalist for player of the year. If he was coming straight off that sort of form I’d probably find it too hard to resist. So if Joe decides to give him a crack I’ll be...

    Waratahs 2025

Plenty of grunt in the pack with Bell, Tupou, Gleeson & Leota. Probably means a more dynamic lock like Smith & maybe a worker like Sinclair - although if Amatosero can provide work rate along with size you are going to be a tough pack physically to play. Speed and size in the backs so making...

I can’t imagine he got a Wallabies shot without a pretty strong endorsement from Kiss.

It was obvious to me. I just didn’t get around to posting it on here. I can’t believe you lot doubted him. Hang your heads.

    Queensland Reds 2025

With regards to Aubrey it is a shame he’s moving on being only 21 and looking like he was starting to develop the type of strength and power that would really help him as a senior pro. But unfortunately for him Ryan has jumped in front of him plus the Reds picked up Anderson & Daugunu. He...

    Queensland Reds 2025

If I recall correctly at the time he also tried to cover one of them up and got caught out. Still - tough circumstances though and I’ve really enjoyed watching him get his career back on the upwards trajectory. Not sure the Reds can be blamed for what happened though.

I have my doubts that he will play Gleeson & Valetini together. Whenever he’s had a choice he’s replaced Valetini with Gleeson as they are very similiar player profiles. If he does bring Gleeson into the starting backrow then I really can’t see him giving Skelton a start.

Which will, of course, be the Tahs fault for letting him go. :)

Just saw Ben Youngs full comments where he predicated England would win 3 from 4 of their Spring tour tests. Hopefully SA pump them next weekend. Then, and I know it’s extremely unlikely - but gee I hope Japan find a way. Somehow.

I get the challenge to try and see what Skelton and Kerevi have to offer. But that’s a challenge born out of their decision not to prioritise a Wallaby jersey. I don’t begrudge them make extra money but all of those other guys could make that choice and didn’t. We’ve been desperate for these...

And Ikitau had actually already got around his man (Lawrence, I think). Yes, Lawrence came back and got him but once he was beaten initially Smith was always going to jam in. If he didn’t and Ikitau only had to contend with one defender there was a decent chance he just palms him and goes for...
