Taking into account the discourse over the last few pages it's clear talent can change significantly between now and next season. I think it'll be tough to predict the outcome with most GPS teams going into this second half of the season given recent developments alone. Also watching all this...

The disillusionment that players feel because of things like this will see them take their talent elsewhere, why bother working hard to make it into a higher team here? if they have already made up their mind because a certain player was good when they were 16 or 17yo then why bother? Adversity...

Agreed, it prioritizes previous standing and not naming names it was clear that this leads to apathy as seen yesterday, it doesn't incentivize improvement it just bolsters egos and complacency. If we want the best out of our junior players we should select the best right now, not select someone...

It did feel like GPS I were lucky to hold onto their lead, CAS played much more enterprising rugby in the second half and really went for it. The energy and momentum was fully with them for most if not all of the second half.

By no means a full list but I am aware both 11 and 14 in GPS 1 are ineligible.

Not sure about GPS white but I was told by someone in the GPS Blue team that they definitely are playing country and not SJRU.

23 would be required for a standalone team or when you don't want to risk running out of players (say if you have 2 teams), GPS instead has a larger pool of 25 selected in the GPS White team that can come and plug the gaps in the squads above if there are any injuries. It's quite smart because...

Sure, but the original post referred to the year 11 count, and while labeling View as being last is true it's deceptive, second place only has a single win more than last. View has struggled with form but are effectively with the pack and having double as many year 11s is still a significant...

Both sides having "at least 6 Year 11s", is an odd way of saying that Joey's has 6 and Riverview has 11 typically (points where they've had 12) year 11s, almost double Joeys which is a pretty big difference.

Likely more a factor of cost of living, and remember they enjoy playing there enough to choose that rather than just playing in Brisbane.

The instability with local teams is concerning, don't want to see burgeoning talent going elsewhere because of it.

Is it just me or does AAGPS only have so many representative teams to accommodate the other conferences being weaker? They couldn't even come up with distinguishing uniforms and have defaulted to just blue and white.

Knowing how Shore can be with pushing other team's buttons I was actually quite impressed with their conduct yesterday, you'll always have bad eggs who will want to be like that, but as you said the others breaking that up is a good sign in itself.

The difficulty with Grammar is that their 1s average to 3s level overall but contain players that are both a fair bit better and worse than that level. For context, there was only a 1s and 2s team there a few years ago compared to others with 10+, so I'm happy they acknowledge those players who...

Watching Shore v View yesterday it looked like View's players were going for individual highlight reels, really disappointing as a supporter to see so much individualism when you have 14 other players with you on the field. Hopefully they can sort this out over the coming weeks.

You would care if you'd ever had to wake up on the floor of their sports hall to play them at ~0 degrees and then get an 8 hour bus home.

For the most part, they're only professionally contracted due to the NRL's eagerness to develop and expand its player base, union should be doing this but they don't bother, it seems arrogant and lazy. I remember footballers and AFL players contracted through academies and teams whilst in high...
