Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

This is where I think Donaldson has it over both Noah and Lynagh. Would like to see him get a run in Joe's team against Wales and/or Georgia.

    My apologies SMI.
  4. Brumby Runner

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Again, how many Welsh tries did he let in through his missed tackles or by going missing in action. Get real SMI.

Look, this is just silly. Carter is a very promising rugby player (now lost to the game at least for some time) but he is years behind Tom Wright in terms of development. Had Carter stayed with rugby, he would have benefited significantly from a couple more years at Super Rugby level, while, unless you...

No way in the world I or others will change your opinion of Tom SMI no matter how many facts are thrown at you. However, I cannot put my finger on those rocks that almost turned to boulders in last night's game. Maybe you are referring to a couple of near tries to the Welsh when they put short...

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

Smith isn't currently in the squad, but Hooper is, so substitute Hooper there and Donaldson in place of Lynagh and I think that's close.

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I think the most likely change(s) will be in the second row and on the bench. Maybe a rest for Slipper as well and we'll have to see if Joe was happy with Hunter's game. Most of us here thought he stifled the Aussie backline attack, but he might have been under instruction to play that way...

A really good effort in defence. Didn't get to see much ball in attack. Think he's wrapped up the No 13 spot behind Ikitau.

He had a wonderful debut particularly with his physical defence. But I think he will more be a worthy backup to Bell or Slipper rather than be another Allan A.

Would most likely be a better option than Paisami but I'm still not sold on him at Super level let alone in a test match.

Had it been under penalty advantage, it would have been the correct option. But as it was, it should never have been attempted. Ball through the hands was the go there although saying that it would have died with Hunter the way he was playing. We do need another 12, and personally I don't think...

A few errors or poor execution of skills that need to be ironed out for the second half. Daugunu has put in three absolutely atrocious kicks, one off the kickoff which he caught a couple of metres inside the 22 and put his clearance kick out on the 22. This play led to the Welsh penalty try a...

I think Rob will go ok, but I'd really like to see TT step up and be more physical with ball in hand. And on more than 3 or 4 occasions as seemed to be his limit of attacking activity at the Rebels this year.

TSR normally I put a lot of store in your posts and opinions, but just on RV last year, he did actually win the John Eales Medal last year.

I do expect there to be some problems/issues in the connection between carriers area when Tom Wright is attacking Filipo Daugunu's side of the park. We all know Tom can throw a wayward pass or two and Filipo can drop the easiest of passes. I hope it doesn't happen but will look out for it.

Joe's comment about Liam Wright sometimes calling lineouts at the Reds got me thinking. Who in this team has been the primary lineout caller for their Super Rugby side this year, or at any time? I am presuming that one of the locks, probably Blyth, called the lineouts for the Reds though it might have...

Or test the referee. TT is always a risk with some refs.

Tom Hooper is capable of playing 7, amd has done so at test level. He might not be the best, nor perhaps not as good as Liam at the spot, but he has certainly done it.

    Wallabies 2024

I like Liam Wright and he wouldn't be out of place if selected again. But it must mean if he's in the side or even on the bench that Charlie Cale misses out. Can't see how both of them fit into the XXIII, unless of course Joe goes with a 6-2 bench. That might be good man management on Charlie's...
