    Refereeing decisions

But if the player in the maul is still held by an opposition player, as occurs in almost every maul situation the ends with the half back taking the ball out of the maul, is that obstruction?

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

I don't have stats or videos at fingertips, but I reckon TW has kicked a couple and Donaldson one.

OK, your opinion. That's fine. but you are suggesting dropping one of our most effective kickers in the back three and having an extremely inconsistent kicker take some of that responsibility. And as far as Tom Wright's kicking ability goes, I am confident to say that he has more distance with...

Pretty much on a par I think.

KOB, Filipo's boot is so inconsistent as to be laughable. Remember the woeful kick in play in the first half of the second test (which led to a Wales try if I remember correctly)? I posted at the time if he ever kicked again he should have his foot amputated. I think others must have thought the...

These are some excerpts from Joe Schmidt's conversations on RA's website. On Marika Koroibete :- "It's not a sudden conversation (about his return), there's been a few and we felt that his experience will be useful against these guys," he told reporters. "Part of Marika's job in this group is...

With that coaching group, can we expect a Brumbies-esque playing style?

According to RA data : Williams 23yo, 195cm and 111kg; Frost 24yo, 206cm, 120kg. Which is the bigger body?

I like that you've got things started Caputo, but I dislike the lack of some quality recruits. No replacements for Brown and Kennedy will mean a lot more game time for Reimer and Scott, but injury in the backrow could spell problems. While it will be interesting to see how Feliuai goes after...

I would start Uru in 7 and have Hooper on the bench in place of Williams. I'm not sure that Leota is fit to play yet, Anybody know? If out, then Williams in his place on the bench.

Hmmm. Kailea 24 yo, and Bell turns 24 in October. I can see this debate going on for years.

Yeah, Melon Finegan was one of the largest humans I've come across. But otoh, I was taller than all of Michael Hooper, Colby Fainga'a and Robbie Coleman when I had a talk with them at a Brumbies meet the players at Canberra Zoo many moons ago.

Please note my comment above about raking over No 10 coals. Just to be inconsistent, the discussion on LHPs has missed the point. Blake Schoupp is the best of all.

Being pedantic, Slim, then yes. But we'd all have to admit that our current No 10 options are all limited in that they all have elements in their games that need improvement. But, as a definite Carter Gordon fan, I will also admit that his goal kicking left a lot to be desired. For all of us, I...

Sevens Lead In and Olympics 2024

So, what exactly happened PC? To my eyes, it looked like the Aussie women thought they were home and hosed after moving to a 12 - 0 lead. Too many players then wanting to make the miracle big plays by themselves rather than looking for team mates in better position.

I'd go Reimer if an on ball player is needed. If a more general No 7 is the go, then I'd like to see Uru with a chance.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but both Valetini and Wilson seemed to be used more as jumpers in the last test; Wilson almost as a primary target. So, (say) Frost and Wilson (or Cale as replacement) as the primary targets, Valetini as third jumper and Skelton himself as a surprise. Would it work?
