    The Wallabies Thread

I think most nations are playing a different game to us. Our attack seems like its from the Rod Macqueen era - based on structure and high phase counts. But defences have improved massively so the leading nations are now trying to score points either before the defence has been set (i.e...

Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

Well done Scotland. We made too many mistakes, but Scotland pressured all game. They looked fitter and more composed. Lindhout and handling errors killed us.

I used to play for mac uni (many moons ago now). We used to describe ourselves as a drinking club with a rugby problem.

Waratahs v Blues - Round 11, Saturday 6 May, Allianz Stadium

Far out. I hope that was rock bottom. That first 40 - Poor defence, no ball retention, shit house kicking. All the basics were fucked. I would hate to see the first half stats. What is wrong with these guys? We seem to be going backwards. Scary thing is the blues aren't even that great...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

For the AUS super teams, I'm blaming the coaching, at super and national level. Our players ain't that bad, atleast their better than the results their getting. Waratahs defence is a case in point, but all teams have similar weaknesses. Not sure what the answer is. We need strong confident...

    Round 6: Waratahs v Crusaders - Sunday 2 April 2017 4pm

Just home. Pretty good game of rugby, lots of open play. Pity the sanders ran away with it at the end. Our defence let us down badly., especially Reece Robinson. Also, looked like the sanders were just that bit fitter. Naiyaravoros try was one for the ages. Pity he only got the ball one other...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Maybe, but you deal with that if/when it happens. I am not sure why the pay gap will continue to widen, plus its not only about money for players who head OS - there are also lifestyle and national representation considerations.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Seems to be a rush to throw the baby out with the bathwater here. I think a purely domestic comp is a poor idea with bad outcomes for Aus rugby. How would rugby succeed here going head to head with NRL AND AFL? Its no chance. Even a trans-tasman comp has limitations that I would be wary...
