Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Saw a good comment by a coach somewhere....our players are as fit as anyone in World Rugby, we just have to work harder collectively to stay in the game because we simply aren't as good, so we are more fatigued at 65min than our quality opposition is. Unfortunately running more laps at training...

    Queensland Reds 2025

Transfering from the Wallabies thread. With 64 players on the Australia A tour, who is likely to be heading to Japan for the Reds tour? Must be some bolters on the plane

Who plays ten (and goal kicks) if Lolesio gets HIA in the second minute?

    Wallabies 2024

They are taking 64 players on tour aren't they? I suspect Edmed might get ahead of Lynagh and Sua'ali'i will be going,

    Wallabies 2024

A bit of damming with faint praise here from Schmidt at the roar? It was pretty obvious at the ground on Saturday just how many of the decisions are now made by the coach via medic/drinks waiter.

Someone has to mark Caleb Clarke. Sometimes slowing him down enough for help to arrive is as good as can be expected

I don't know if he was that locked in. Schmidt's comments weren't exactly overwhelming Harry Wilson has been much more reliable at the front of the lineout than most would have expected. There's no doubt Wright is better there, but it isn't nearly as big a gap as it used to be

No, RFU, WRU, and SRU are covering the costs of the top 35ish players and coaches. The game against Ireland is outside of the test window so there will be a fee paid to Australia in addition to that RA will have also obtained some revenue for the AusXV games against Bristol and England A...

Is it insane if Bristol and others are paying us enough to cover the costs for the Australia XV games?

I don't know what moving Wright to 12 would really achieve other than expose his defense even more than we see already. He isn't a crash baller, he's best running with space, we'd lose his kick return threat and I think he's doing a pretty good job of injecting himself into the backline, often...

I hadn't realised just how big Caleb Clarke was until seeing him in person, but whoever plays right wing has their work cut out. It probably has to be Kellaway given most alternatives are left wingers

I've said it before - but I think Wright at Fullback would be the first name Schmidt is writing into his team sheet at the moment - at least for the backs. He's almost the only player with a big personality and leadership out there

Doran's Wednesday leak has Koroibete and Lynagh dropped from the 23, with Peitsch to the wing and Donaldson back.

I don't think we have to be. Just pray that the Lions and WC generate a shitload of $$$, and then don't be surprised as RA spend it all through the cycle on pro rugby until the next windfall (which hopefully comes)

I think the broadcasters feedback on that, if we stay with a subscription model like Stan, is that more content doesn't equal more revenue. More subscribers do. More content means more expenses, both more payments to players, but also additional costs to produce the games. And if the additional...

The big problem being non-Wallaby teams generating very little revenue, and hence very small wages?

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Was at the game sitting in row 5 near the try line. It was interesting to see just how much signalling and communication there is between the players/captain and the miked up "medics". Clearly there is a communications role for the captain, both with ref and his team, but almost all decision...

Not dropped (or at least Gordon wasn't) Argentinian Gastro bug. It appears Donaldson is just the #2 option, and if Lolesio is available, he will be chosen. (Although Donaldson may have been sick too)
