For the integrity of the rules and club champs Mosman/Petersham should be relegated. My view again is if subbies go a 10 team Div One then its good night irene for clubs like Newport, UNSW and Hills. A strong subbies requires a strong competitive Div 2 comp.

Firstly agree St Pats totally shafted by subbies. St Pats 2023 1st grade: 9th 2nd grade: 5th Colts 1st: but didn't make the GF 3rds: 9th 4th: 8th On behalf of 2nd Division: Challenge accepted, we welcome the increased competition which will make us all lift our game.

Apparently a 3rd Div club are in conversations with Eddie Jones around coaching next year.

I for one welcome our new Div 2 overlords. Both clubs have enjoyed some great rivalry with the Breakers over the years and we look forward to welcoming them back to Porters and I know the boys will like a close away game to the Whales and the Petersham bowlo is always a great away bus trip...

I'd hate to see what a full strength Newport will do in 2024 after winning Colts, the Joy Johnson Cup and were Barraclough grand finalists with a severely depleted travel roster in 2023. I'd suggest 2024 will be more like 2022 where the club dominated the hybrid DIv2/3 comp.

Certainly a different weight Div.

Which shield team did they come from? Two blues? Good luck to them and hopefully other grade players consider a run at grassroots level.

Has anyone heard anything from SRU about an investigation and punishment for the after game brawl? Looks like it has been swept under the carpet as Shute Shield clubs are clearly beyond reproach. As a work colleague said, if that was a football game it would of been front page of the telegraph.
