Newports 7s campaign ended a few weeks ago I believe with two tournaments in Feb. My understanding is the Colts program at Porters chugs along as strong as ever with 25+ young ones trotting around.

I'll dream of 15k but say 10k. If they can get over the Highlanders, then there could be reasonable hope for 20-25k next Saturday night against Auckland. Highlanders don't draw in the kiwis like Auckland or the Crusaders.

Given the big win over the Crusaders, great weather forecast and the game being on a Friday (easy for the CBD crowd to jump a tram after a few arvo beers) what should the crowd expectation be? I would of thought anything under 15,000 as a big disappointment?

I'm there for Friday night. With no shute shield and no subbies, let's hope that rather than say rugby is dying that rugby fans get out to what is one of the world's best stadiums to support the Tahs.

Is the NSWRU marketing pigeon doing anything to encourage subbies clubs to get to Allianz on Friday? Perfect time to be encouraging support before their season kicks off?

Never been a real Hanigan fan but acknowledge he made a physical impact off the bench. Looks like he’s been on the roids as appears super buffed. Hopefully that result will add 5000 to Fridays gate at Allianz. Surely the Tahs deserve a crowd of 20,000 for the Highlanders game.

2 Breakers teams slog it out against Hunters Hill, Dirty Red, Hornsby and Forest tomorrow at the Rats Sevens. Will be interesting to see how Newport & Hornsby go against the Div 1 big boys.

My view is it appears harder to keep this generation of commitment phobe players focused for 8 weeks+ before they even hit to paddock for a trial game.
