    NSW AAGPS 2025

I somewhat agree with you on the backrowers, it's all well and good to have a couple of ball runners but there needs to be workhorses in the pack 'doing their shitters' which was lacking, and in my opinion is lacking all the way up to the Wallabies. I blame league ;). They did have a 7 who was...

    CAS Rugby 2025

I thought this years 15s did much better than they have over the past few years.

    NSW AAGPS 2025

They had a lot of their best players on the bench for most of the game and one who didn't play at all.

    CAS Rugby 2025

I hear ya..I wonder the same. What happens if Stannies and Kinross end up in the same division at the end of the ISA season. Does that mean the likes of Trinity, Aloys or Cranbrook will travel to Bathurst & Orange at the back end of the year? How long until parents and teachers get sick of...

    CAS Rugby 2025

I believe it has. I was talking with one of the Heads of Sport who was part of a small group behind the changes. He said they've now got agreement from all Heads of Sport and all school Principals.

    CAS Rugby 2025

Absolutely, It must have been a massive effort to not only get all Heads of Sport on board but can you imagine how hard it would have been to get all the school principals to agree. Massive kudos to those who got this off the ground. Lets hope next years 'trial run' is a huge success for all...

    NSW AAGPS 2025

The U15 Reds didn't look that strong when I saw them play a few weeks ago. They won, but only just and against a side full of reserve players. The selectors really need to pay attention to that age group over the next 12 months to make sure they get the team right, and just as importantly they...

Unfortunately I think you'll find Darcy Feltham, Talen Risati, Cyrus Bloomfield and Sam Polly all end up playing League after school.

I heard the same thing. I'm sure there will be some logistical issues to iron out but I hope this new format succeeds, continues and maybe even expand into the future. Can only be a good thing for schoolboy rugby.

    ISA 2024

If only I could predict the winners at Randwick Racecourse as easily.. tbh, it didn't take Einstein to work out it was going to be a one horse race, but to win As & B's in every age group is still a difficult task given the depth of talent at Oakhill who are easily capable of an upset win...

I'd be interested in hearing who in the Waratahs 16s should have missed out and a Joe boy taken their place.... Not trying to cause an argument, genuinely interested.

    ISA 2024

I believe that Auggies have the edge over Oakhill in every age group except maybe the 16s and that really depends on how many Oakhill u16s are playing up in the 1st XV at Oakhill. Oakhill arguably have the strongest u16 squad by far, but most of them play in the 1st XV with a few floating...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

I'd agree with #10's, there's a few in the u15s that are as good if not better than the u16 #10's. Not sure I agree about the Joey's/Mosman/Norths #10. Don't get me wrong he is good, but in my opinion the 2Blues/U16A Waverly #10 Payton Tarau outplayed him in every way at the State Champs and...

Wonder who the coach/selectors are ;)

    NSW AAGPS 2024

I agree it is everywhere, but this example is absolutely atrocious and those involved have no business being anywhere near coaching/selecting representative teams. The issue is they will all justify their selections when Sydney beat Country.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Not sure I agree with that, the u15's seem to be reasonably competitive, the Joeys team have the better of the schools, however the majority of that team play at Mosman who are reasonably competitive except for the Scorpians who are unbeatable when they can field a full team. The u15 age group...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

You got it. No prizes for guessing that one. The nepotism in this age group has significantly weakened rugby.
  18. O

    NSW AAGPS 2024

I think that's the problem there... It's only strong within it's own bubble. If it was truly strong on a global level then that talent would be filtering through to the Waratahs and Wallabies and they be would be winning. So the solution should be to make it stronger and increase the competition.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

One age group in particular this year has been decimated by blatant nepotism with selection into Sydney Regional and Sydney team. The team that ended up wining the State Championships undefeated this year will be lucky to field a team next year. They've all given up because of the bias and...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

I don't think school boy rugby is the problem, I actually think it should be embraced, expanded, improved and turned into the solution. What I think will help the Waratahs and Wallabies is more of GPS/CAS/ISA cross over like we saw over the past fortnight. The U16 GPS I vs ISA I final at St...
