Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

He does have great distribution skills and a nose for a gap but he is inconsistent, particularly under pressure. They will never be under more pressure than this weekend. Mind you, Lolesio is not great under pressure either. Lynagh on the bench?

I don’t have a problem with Skelton. He brings a different sort of skill set which can be useful. I feel like he has never transferred his European form to the test arena and that for the most part he has been an unwilling Wallaby. Hope we see him on the EOYT. If not, that is OK as well.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 10th August 2.30pm AEST @ Suncorp,

Don’t be too surprised about his nonchalance. Every coach since he left for Europe has tried to get him to play for Australia with only a couple recently being successful. Making him captain was absolutely ridiculous and sent a very poor message to the other Wallabies and young players aspiring...

    Wallabies 2024

Unfortunately our two best breakdown technicians are not available for this test. It will be interesting to see the makeup of the backrow. Of course putting pressure on the breakdown is the responsibility of the whole team but it helps when you have a specialist or two.

We are going to need some big boys to handle the Boks for the full 80. Start LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Williams with Frost on the bench. Not sure who starts at 7 but Uru on the bench to come on with Frost might work.

Kailea looks a very good prospect but his test experience is extremely limited and that against a sub standard Wales and Georgia. He looks the goods but he is yet to be really tested. I imagine after this next test we will know how good he is right now. I am a fan. On the other hand Slipper will...

    Wallabies 2024

I cannot find the article but it was the same one suggesting that there will be 3 squads selected for this RC. One for each pair of matches and also suggesting Skelton will be available for the tour to Argentina.. I’m also an Uru fan. I would slot him in the 23 next week. I like Lynagh too and...

You can only select from those available. They have given their reasons why Skelton was not considered. Uru has presumably been selected in place of Wright or Cale as someone who can play 6,7,8 and 5 as a bonus. We need to have at least one specialist 7 in the squad. Two is better. Who would...

    Wallabies 2024

He gets his hands on the pill a lot. He has been excellent for the Reds in the last two games and was a popular choice to be in the squad initially. I reckon we will see him in the next few weeks. He doesn’t mind mixing it up with the big boys either. With no Cale or Wright we need an option at...

I doubt Bell gets a start. Maybe off the bench in the second test if he's going well. The backrow will be interesting. I reckon Uru will be in the mix. A great replacement for Wright offering a similar skill set but with the added ball handling. He could even play at 7 with Reimer on the bench.

Sevens Lead In and Olympics 2024

Choke may not be the best term but in both the semi final and the bronze medal match we were seemingly in control and then let the games slip. Sound familiar? It is a mental thing. There is no way the kiwi girls would have let those teams back into the game from that position. It’s a big work on...

Sevens Lead In and Olympics 2024

A couple of lapses gave the game away. No one defending the quick penalty when Charity Williams ran the length of the field untouched and the pill dropped cold in front of our posts when not under pressure. Hats off to the Canadians but a choke for sure. Our girls will be more disappointed than...

TBF there are not that many in Australia like us. Its highly unlikely a Wallaby announcement will steal the limelight from anything, let alone the Olympic Games.

    Wallabies 2024

We absolutely should not try to build a team around Skelton or anyone else playing OS. However, he does offer a point of difference and we do not have another similar player available. If he wants to be a part of the squad and have the chance to play against the BILs and represent in the next...

    Wallabies 2024

Thats a little unfair. Super Rugby was going on and a get together mid comp would not have pushed them much further along. Schmidt went team to team and learned about them. He obviously has his own ideas now regarding who should be part of the group and who may not be. He is still learning but...

Looks like Angus Bell is tracking well. Back training and a few weeks away from playing according to him on the KOKO podcast. Hope he is past his foot issues.

I would not be surprised if Flook is slated to start at 13. Williams is a good option to start at 6 if Wright is injured. Also Uru if Wright is not available. Uru was outstanding against Wales and has been for the whole year.
