    Queensland Reds 2025

I think the problem is that a lot of these places don’t have Stan. The issue of the commercial license was sort of resolved I believe but the establishments just put on fox sports 1 through 3 plus espn and don’t want to pay another fee. Respectfully I disagree that a finals game against the...

    Queensland Reds 2025

I know your comment has a humerous intention but it’s actually a bad situation here. This has been discussed on the broadcast thread but there are precious few pubs you can watch the game at. The Breakfast Creek Hotel, probably Brisbane’s biggest pub, doesn’t play Rugby at all any more and the...

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

I hope so too. Early noises out of QLD aren’t promising given the restings and I fear the departing NSW players will be thinking of their next contract. Least exciting lead up of this state matchup of all time?
  4. Sword of Justice

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

Leaving aside that it’s NSW and most of them should hopefully find this match up extremely meaningful I actually don’t think it’s meaningless even in the finals context I assume this comment pertains to. We aren’t good enough to let games go and we are young enough to play full first xv every...

    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

Yep, Tate and Lynagh were superb, no two ways about it. I think every Red played well.

    Round 14: Brumbies v Rebels Fri 24th 7.35PM @ GIO STADIUM

These Canberra fans are troglodytes. All of these penalties have been so clear cut.

    Wallabies 2024

Wright is actually the leading line out recipient in Super Rugby. Though I would have him covering 6/7 on the bench.
  8. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

I think Ala’alatoa will improve more as he gets his match fitness back but it’s not ideal at THP given Tupou isn’t going great. I’d start Tupou with Allan off the bench but wouldn’t be surprised either way. Not much depth here. Fa’agase probably in with a shot given he can do both sides...

    Round 12: Reds v Rebels Fri 12th 7:35PM @ Suncorp

Wasn’t that in Melbourne though? To their credit the Tahs have become a bogey team for the crusadists.

Neither but I believe they have a very liberal approach to debt and a more top heavy expense structure.

Crusaders v Reds: International Star Wars Day 4:35pm NZST

The Stan scoreboard is wrong or am I crazy?
  12. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

There’s a Rugby Championship, EOYT, and a full Super season between Wales and the Lions and I think a squad place on the EOYT would not be out of place at all but I do struggle to see how he’ll be contending for starting 10 by the time Lions comes around frankly.

    Wallabies 2024

I actually agree with that latter part but couldn’t bear seeing him over exposed too early and get spat out the other end. No bad thing to hold on to his development a little longer and let him bed down his game.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I can't read the article but I'm guessing that offer would not include Lions?
  15. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

Based on previous Schmidt teams I think he will give Lolesio first crack. Schmidt seemed to prefer a ten who could implement a detailed plan reliably with Ireland though he may take a different approach here. I’d say Lolesio has demonstrated he can cope with extensive instruction better than...

    Wallabies 2024

This is interesting because I see it totally the reverse. Holloway’s shifting rocks but I see Swinton especially as so much more dynamic. Hanigan is such a better player now than when he was selected for the Wallabies ironically. Swinton without the brain fades (which has been the case so far...

    Wallabies 2024

BR, I'm not saying Wright played poorly yesterday at all. That level of risk taking was perfect for Super but will not translate to tests. I know this because he's played four consecutive years for the Wallabies and been dropped out of the squad four consecutive times.
  18. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

I don’t think Wright is any where near getting the brain explosions out of his game. I’d love him for the Reds but against the Canes he chanced it and fucked up probably 5 times and the Canes didn’t make him pay once. Against a top 10 test team they would definitely have.

    Queensland Reds 2024

I think the Reds coaches feel they need some size in an otherwise very small backline, especially with no Petaia, so they pick Vunivalu. He isn't actually giving the backline any decent size given he only ever uses it in the pick and roll other than when he caught that amazing high ball but then...

    Round 10 : Reds v Blues

Because I am totally heartbroken I want to focus on the positives. Toomaga-Allen was absolutely fantastic for us around the park tonight. His fitness and size combination is what we've needed since Tupou got injured. Tim Ryan. Obviously. Can't teach what them legs do. Defended quite well for...
