For his size it was amazing that he could go 80 so regularly when he was with the Reds. I’d say that qualified him to be a fitness freak at the time. It is simply amazing what his work rate was on top of the scrum dominance and hit ups. These days there are a number of 140kg props around but...

This is fairly common across all sports that I’ve been involved in.

Totally subjective when talking about the viewing spectacle but for outside backs I would say Rugby is significantly faster of a game to play than League. League wingers, especially players like Hayne, are told never to leave their 5m channel and so essentially have an involvement on attack...

Where is this bad hands on Petaia coming from? Total nonsense. The amount of times he’s been chucked a hospital pass just because the inside man doesn’t want it in traffic and he’s somehow managed to keep the ball proves that to be false.

Whenever this is floated for sporting bodies I just struggle to see where the risk reward balance is favourable enough to warrant private equity. Sports are tied to so many different social and economic factors and the media space is so competitive that unless you are the EPL or NFL I can’t see...

Really really pleased for all but especially Smith and Uru.

Two of my favourite Reds past or present

True but Ardie Savea is technically pretty light and doesn’t seem it. Whilst Daugunu is not Savea but he does play heavier. He is probably the best back I have personally ever seen at the breakdown, without hyperbole.

Literally no one cares about the Titans or any gc team. There’s never been a successful one. You will not find passionate supporters there because the locals have their own favourite teams from their home towns.

yeah mate by no means am I arguing with that. I don't think any of the regular posters here know his reasons but if he's moving back for family then my estimation of him only increases from a very high base. All I'm saying is that if his heart is not in it, then maybe it looks worse than it...

Compelling. Still, there are other rugby markets that would have him and keep him a lot closer to the two biggest things in our sport. Both of which are bigger than anything the titans have done or will ever do. Maybe I just can’t fathom why someone would want to take qantas flights around the...

Moving for the same money and missing a BIL tour and essentially making himself last in line for the World Cup if he were to decide to return is not a good look for us as Rugby enjoyers. Yes, it is 2024 but there is an element of love for the game that must be missing here and I don’t think...

Is that a bit of hyperbole though? Most players who switch teams don’t switch 18 months out.

I have never heard of Oyonnax and by the looks of things will never again

Werchon and I agree he looked really good. TBH I was surprised Kalani kept his spot immediately upon Tate’s return. At the end of the day Tate has been around long enough to have a quiet period and whilst I do think he struggled in the back half I am confident he will average out to be the best...

I actually agree that Tate hasn’t been his usual self since coming back from suspension in terms of game management but one thing I have noticed is his pass from the base has improved to a point where I would say it’s above average for a super level halfback. His confidence will come back.

The rusted on argument is one I find to be somewhat persuasive but I’m not sure 10k at the game is only the rusted on just yet. There are still a bunch of young kids attached to parents, young adults doing their due family activities, partners of the rusted on, and a handful of the curious that...

And then you have a possible issue in cannibalism of Reds fans who are close enough to Brisbane to make the trip to Suncorp, thereby splitting a customer base. On the other hand, once the novelty wore off I don’t think FNQ really showed they could support a fan base in the long run by themselves.

Thank you very much. Port Office is pretty good so I’ll try that next time. The young lady at the Regatta had no idea as to Stan and didn’t seem interested in finding out so I didn’t want to be that bloke but I’m glad to know because it is my favourite pub.

Tupou as a pot plant is still probably the best THP we have, although I thought Ala'alatoa played his best game by far since returning from injury. I make no excuses for Tupou’s lack of fitness but at the end of the day he is still a point of difference and we are going to have enough forwards...
