Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Do these stats count run metres as metres over the gain line, or simply metres from where the ball was caught? I don't necessarily think Palu should be dropped for the next test, but I thought he was just about our weakest forward last night. And our lineout abilities could improve...

    Western Force 2014

I don't understand who the force are spending their money on. It's not like their squad is chock full of star players.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I think there are question marks over Palus place in the team. We could go with Mowen at 8 and MMM or Kimlin at 6

    O'Connor to 13 To'omua/lilo to 10 Horne to 12 Gill starting

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Ugly rugby is not executing your skills. Shit kicks, dropped ball, static runners, being held up in the tackle. The stuff the wallabies do far too often. Any form of rugby when executed well is attractive. Even when the score ends up being multiples of 3.

Brumbies v British & Irish Lions Tuesday 18 June 2013

I agree about Smith, although I doubt McCabe would have made much difference at 12. With To'omua at 10 you've got to have someone who can find a gap and offload outside him. Also important to note they didn't have White which probably played a part.

    Rebels 2014

The australian sports media don't really care about rugby beyond Cooper and Folau. And I suspect the Rebels are not going to try their luck taking on the ARU. The QRU can do it because they can back up their statements, but the Rebels have no fall back.

Brumbies v British & Irish Lions Tuesday 18 June 2013

The brumbies skill execution is what wins them games. It is so refreshing to see an australian team that can do it. Even the Reds in their pomp weren't as consistent with their execution as the Brumbies are. The brumbies are seriously lacking in attack without Lilo though.

    Rebels 2014

It's not a free market at all. The reds could match the rebels offer, but they didn't have the cap space so they lost him, even though he was keen to stay. He was quoted in the press saying as much. The salary cap is a market constraint, and one that is not applied evenly as we see with the...

    Rebels 2014

I love to pour shit on the waratahs as much as the next bloke, but you have to understand the tahs were on the brink of spectacular failure and they are slowly coming back from that. Keeping Foley at 10 is imperative to their on field success. And I think its best for rugby in this country...

    Waratahs v. B&I Lions - Saturday 15 June 2013

How good was Mitchell? If digby is out I'd have him on the wing for the wallabies.

We can add Will Skelton to the list of players with a better passing game than Pat McCabe.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Any coincidence Pat McCabes best patch of rugby so far this year was when he was effectively playing wing on the weekend? I can see it now, a backline of Genia+6 Wingers: 9. Genia 10. O'Connor 11. Cummins 12. McCabe 13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14. Tomane 15. Folau "The robbie deans winning formula: Backline...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

The national coach doesn't build depth and breadth. It is built at the grassroots level and then harnessed at super rugby level. The national coach just gets his pick of the cream and has to build a game plan around what he has got. Trying to execute a game plan that you don't have the...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

The think the practise of signing foreign journeymen has to stop. I agree that the super rugby teams should each be allowed a Foreign capped player so that Argentinian and PI players have a chance to make a living in the SH. I can see a case for a guys like Tanaka, Fotuali'i, Nagala and...

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

Am I alone here in not caring? This a rugby chat site. Qwerty can say whatever he likes. I don't agree with him either, but I think its a bit ridiculous asking the mods to step in over throw away lines.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

The problem with McCabe is that he is selected to do one thing, the opposition know that, and as such they can defend against it easily. Fast front foot ball is invaluable, but he often wasn't getting fast front foot ball because all the opposition defence had to do to nullify him was hit him...

    Western Force 2014

Cottrell and Manu are good enough to be starting I reckon. Teesman has played his best rugby this year as well so they might keep him on. Don't reckon Rasolea has shown enough, but there is also not many other options.

Force still lack a really solid 13. Maybe stubbs will develop into the role, but they probably still need to sign someone else as well for depth.
