Anyone see the Randwick vs Easts game? Wondering how Pietsch went.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Annual turnover at the top 6 English Clubs is around 20+ mio pounds each ($40 mio AUD). The bottom 4 clubs (except Newcastle) annual losses around 400k. So not as bad as the headline sounds. Not sure how much RFU pumps into each Club, compared to the numbers RA pump into Super Rugby Franchises? With...

Round 10: Waratahs v Chiefs. Friday 26th April 7:35 pm

Jorgensen steps in too often in defence, leaving the outside man - classic school boy trait, seen often at Colts level as well. Agreed that his one-on-one tackling is sub-standard. Should spend the rest of the season in Shute Shield - expensive lessons to learn.

Simply amazing sequence of injuries - add to that, Gamble looked to have a calf injury spending a lot of time out wide.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Looks like the salary cap of $5.5 mio is a CBA obligation to a minimum 90% level, while RA funding is $3.9 mio; a $1 mio shortfall if 90% is observed [but they likely spent the full $5.5 mio], leaving them around $1.7 mio a year short on salaries alone?

    Waratahs 2024

Haven't seen him turnout for the Waratahs since Jack Grant came back from injury - played all Shute Shield so far this season. Good luck to him in 7s - he is robust enough, with great short distance acceleration.

What Club is Pietsch registered to? He has been dropped completely for the Chiefs game. Was hoping to see Harrison start.

That would Tee the B&I Lions Tour up nicely.

For NH Rugby, it is probably the equivalent of Lions Tours (annually) with all those games available for viewing..... $$$$.

What an Autumn Series for NH.

No relegation this season - no money, playing with many academy players - see if the ME money materialises.

    Waratahs 2024

"The forwards can have a day off." - that certainly wasn't the case. Think I counted 5 or 6 Waratahs - Fergus LW was strong, Teddy Wilson was the spark, followed by Jack Grant who replaced him and scored a great try. Jack Bowen controlled well, Harry Wilson solid.

    Waratahs 2024

    Bowen [10], T Wilson [9] and H Wilson [13] playing for Easts this w/e.

    Waratahs 2024

Teddy Wilson did indeed tear it up for Easts on Saturday in their win over Gordon; Waratahs certainly have great depth at #9 - Bowen was also very strong.

Over excited having just watched that from the lucky position in members stand (thanks to a friend) - I thought Harrison changed the course of that game.

    Waratahs 2024

I'll watch Waratahs tonight at the stadium, and Easts tomorrow - I reckon Wilson and Bowen will tear it up. Shame other Wilson not playing FB for Easts.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Yes - that was misleading, apologies. $10M net of redistribution.
  18. S

    Waratahs 2024

Still Eastwood registered - be cool to see him play Club rugby.
  19. S

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

If it costs $14M to run a Super Rugby side, there is no way any of the Super Rugby Franchises get anywhere close to that revenue on their own; +/- a million or eight more like? I understand how the Rebels have got into this debt situation now - it was inevitable.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Indeed - and they would play more games each year, which they need.
