Australia A - Back on the Cards

Not sure I agree with this. I can't see a player such as Fekitoa making a different decision under the new rules - you could argue the new rules means they are more likely to be able to represent Tonga (for example) later in their career so makes the decision easier. ABs or Wallabies vs Tonga...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Some really good impact by the Aussie bench.

July Internationals 2023 - matches not involving Australia

I reckon this was pre planned before last week's game - they want size on the bench.

Good call zero - both Narawa and Telea have experience playing 11

Given that Aumua is playing for Wellington in the Shield game tomorrow I would say your theory is correct.

Funny how no one is complaining about the AB jersey after seeing it on the field. Same design as the RWC jersey.

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

Urgh loosies on the wing. I'm getting PTSD from Blues tactics with Akira etc hanging out wide whilst the rest of the forwards get reamed.

I don't understand the obsession with playing Valetini at 8. To me his best position is 6. He's a power player who runs hard and hits hard - abrasive. By playing him at 8 you are short changing both him and the team. Will get a better idea of the Wallabies under Eddie after next weekend. As...

Very pleasing performance. Rieko and Jordie straight out of the Rokocoko and Nonu playbook of 'start playing seriously once test season rolls around'. ABs attack looked much better. DMac is a huge part of that. That was a marker laid down by DMac - my gut says we need DMac at 10 to have our...

Well that was always a possibility with a team missing a number of starters, a number of guys having very little recent rugby and a short build up with Eddie all thrown in to the Pretoria cauldron. To start with plug Bell and Philip into that tight 5 (plus Tupou on the bench) and sort out the...

I just saw them. They don't stick out like doodles at all.

I've seen the jersey in stores and the ferns are nowhere near as visible as that - they are on the training shirt/singlet but not on the jersey they are selling. At a glance you can hardly notice any design on the jersey itself.

4 years in and Foster still can't select a team. He picks 3 opensides and 3 first fives in his 23 meaning there's no proper cover for 12 or 8. Frizell sucks on the field, is a bad person off of the field and is off overseas next year yet he leads this charmed life where he gets the 6 jersey...

Valetini looks like a prototypical test 6 - will he get a run there this year?

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

I'm very very happy with those appointments. Cotter provides the steel and O'Hallaran provides the attacking game plan. Two things they badly needed. The missing piece is leadership on the field. Leon did an admirable job but Cotter is a far more experienced coach which Blues have needed for...

    Wallabies 2023

Faessler is a very good pick. He really came on strong. Looks to have the frame for test footy too. 3 halfbacks in the train on squad is very odd. Debreczeni or Lolesio instead of one of those surely. Donaldson selection is rather baffling. He did his best to play his way out of the squad.

Yes. In the game at the Cake Tin I was far more impressed by Junior Wallabies even though they didn't win.

As who thought? It was clear in the Trans Tasman games it was a weak NZ crop.
