Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

They don't commentate the actual games. They are on a panel pre-mid-post match. I actually found SBW good during the World Cup coverage cos he was on pre and post match. Commentating during a game is a different skill.

Super Rugby: Rd 2. NSW Waratahs v Crusaders, Sat Mar 2

Well done Tahs. Well deserved win. They just kept turning up for 80 minutes. Great reward. Crusaders seriously lack quality. Kemara never impresses and Havili ain't a 12. Great for the comp.

Lack of graft doesn't seem to be an issue under Cotter. He has them working hard - especially the pack.

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

Blues loosies were impressive. Zarn class at fullback again - his game screams test rugby. Conversely I don't think Perofeta is a test 10 but I enjoy watching him at 10 for the Blues - much better than Beauden of recent seasons. Highlanders are much improved when you consider last season they...

Corey Evans wasn't in the 23 last week either.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

Really enjoyable game to watch considering the weather and first round. Well done to the Reds on getting Les Kiss. Just what the Reds needed to take the next step forward. They looked calmer and with more of a plan than under Thorn. Good news for the comp and for Aus rugby. Tahs problems look...

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

Really pleasing first up performance under Vern Cotter for the Blues. Just one game of course but two terms that come to mind would be hard working and organised. Clarke looked much better at his dropped weight - conversely Sam Darry looks physically much more robust meanwhile Zarn Sullivan...

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

I don't think Suafoa has played much lock at all during preseason - forced to a bit perhaps in the last preseason game vs Chiefs. Suafoa should get some opportunities in the loose forward mix I think. He really impressed at 6 for the Maori ABs when they beat Ireland in NZ a couple of years back...

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

Anton Segner is getting a lot of hype for this being his breakthrough year. Kaiser Anton?

Yeah he's a midfielder/winger. Good frame and has good pace. Deserves an opportunity.

Rivez Reihana has been around a few seasons now. Has nearly 50 NPC caps. Agreed that neither him or Kemara look nearly as good as Burke.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Realistically I think RA needs some money in the bank following the Lions series and World Cups then can look at a domestic set up in 5 or so years from now

Jacomb looks a good player but not sure how much gametime he'll get with DMac running the show at 10. Speaking of Naki players playing for the Chiefs I'll be interested if Boschier can take his NPC form to Super in a competitive Chiefs loosie mix.

He might want that. Doesn't mean he is going to get that. Razor seems to be a big fan of Roigard as I've heard him single out Roigard in multiple different interviews since taking over as ABs coach - it reads to me like Roigard is in pole position to grab the AB 9 jersey.

Yeah nah. Rogiard may have a second year syndrome (hopefully not) but it won't have anything to do with Perenara.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Two things can be true Super Rugby as a whole has been woefully managed by NZR and RA for the last decade plus. Only now are there some positive signs and it could be too little too late. The Rebels specifically have been awfully managed to have debt well beyond anyone else. I hope the idea...

Highlanders haven't changed coaches. It's still Clarke Dermody. Jamie Joseph's role is head of rugby looking at recruitment etc
