Yes and no. I know most mungos watch the RWC a lot closer that you think. They would love to be part of that - due to ego more than anything else. and if it was all about cashola, why wouldn't a stint in Japan appeal once they are in their mid 30s - cultural immersion for the family and a life...

The payer also needs to realise that they are not above the school. You go to a private school - you play sport in summer and winter regardless of whether you are signed to play DV rugby or any sport.

I hate most mungos and think their skill levels are over-pumped up by a compliant NRL press, however I do think ol' granite chin would be handy at flyhalf. I think he would have the leadership to run the show - but he'd have to learn a significant amount of rugby smarts to play conductor. Any...

    NW Schools Rugby Championship

This is great news. Has to be a good thing for local clubs if they can recruit and possibly another rugby playing school in the Penrith area that the re-set Penrith Emus can draw from to create a healthy colts program. The lifeblood of a club in the eyes of many.

That doesnt sit will with me at all. You go to Kings, you fucking play sport in summer and winter - don't let that fluffybunny of game DV dictate what a 150 year old school can do with the co-curricualr activities of their students. mungos...

wonder how many excess Warringah rats players might be interested in having a crack at Kentwell Cup first grade now the Breakers are there. Out of interest would a good 3rd / 2nd grade club player be a sure bet for Kentwell 1st grade?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

After being pecked to death from the outside, the game is now hastening up its demise in Australia by eating itself from the inside. Oh the fun this game is to support here...

    Women's Rugby

yeah she actually told me that at a Bledisloe lunch. I actually suggested that she'd be a handy 12 but she laughed and said (not sure if she was being serious) that the tackling at 12 didnt appeal! I guess she likes space as that's what she gets in 7s but no idea what her clearing kick is like.

Agree completely. Ex 7s players should be our priority for the backs. Caslick said she wants to play fullback.

Just watched the replay if the Wallaroos / Boks game. Can see a marked improvement with full time training and immersion in rugby. A lot straighter hard running, aggression at the ruck and the wings finished well. Proper investment into the womens game is starting to pay off. That first Boks try...

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

I have no doubt we have the talent for 5 teams - we absolutely do. What we don't have is the money to keep them in Australia. We have more Super rugby players playing overseas or in the NRL than we have in Australia... Always wondered what increasing the salary cap by say $1 million would do to...

    Club Season Length

I dont get the sway that the Sydney cricket clubs have. I like club cricket, but there is literally 20 people there sometimes watching a club game - and they are the ones determining that a Shute Shield club with 7 teams plus, has to find another location for the start of the season - when it...

to be fair it is rumoured that Charlotte Caslick is on north of $500k including endorsements etc. Its just a rumour but I think the top make some good coin in 7evens. Thnik the average sevens contract is around the $100k mark. not bad for an extremely fit 20 year old with no head knocks like DV...

should include the 7s programs in the number of pro rugby players. Are there about 15 in each 7s squad?

With no knowledge about it - I would say yes but I have a hunch RA and a few supporters would make up the difference.
