    Country v B&I Lions

Well done the Cameron Blades Invitational XV. Well played and the forwards stood up. Lions backs were way too good. Thought the defence of the rolling maul, and in tight was great. Unfortunately you could see they hadn't trained or played together and there was very little to show when they had...

    Country v B&I Lions

Just want to wish the lads playing in the Cam Blades Invitational XV all the best. I hope the Heelers v Cockatoos game is taped as well. Go Heelers (somewhat belatedly) and hope the "Combined Country" team gives the Lions heaps.

2013 Queensland Premier Rugby Tipping Comp

Damn! Got caught up in Lions fever, plus some planting & spraying issues and totally forgot. There goes my experiment of trying to tip with only forum info and some very old allegiances.

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

Watching NZ v France on tv at members bar. Kiddies having a run. Already fair crowd outside, and sellout signs are up. Plenty of white about! Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

Been a while since going out in Brisbane after a game. Caxton still the place to go? Any other ideas that'll have lions supporters, but won't be hugely packed nearby?

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

So looking forward to this. I was hoping Reds would have a special strip for the game, and would be available last weekend. Alas not the case. I have such good memories of the last Reds v Lions, but that wad because they let our subbies team party the curtain raiser at Ballymore. Last game in...

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

I would hope for next year Rebs move JOC (James O'Connor) to inside centre, and have hegarty as 5/8. Could've worked tonight. Rebels definitely missed Higgers and Pyle, although Pyle was off early. Was a crazy game. Glad the Reds got the bonus point in the end. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

    Country v B&I Lions

Wondering when the Qld Country team will be picked for the curtain raiser, it's going to be hard to get accommodation and transport with such short notice (especially their family and friends, let alone tickets to watch the game!) Also to the poster above I would remove the player playing for...

    Reds 2013

Out of all of them, Gill looks like the best ball player. Not disagreeing about what he does, just he's not to the point that Higgers was with the ability to both bend the line and either give the support player the pass in traffic or kick for himself (yet!). Look forward to when they both play...

    Reds 2013

Agree with you USARugger on the three points from last night. I would also add we lack any deception outside of QC (Quade Cooper)'s channel. It looked as though if QC (Quade Cooper) didn't run the play, it would be a pass from other back to the next back. I don't agree with Deans regarding Taps being affected by QC (Quade Cooper) but...

Pfitzy He could be here driving tractors and I would be paid to go to all the Lions games. If only....

    Country v B&I Lions

Then call the team the lions are playing against the Australian Country Heelers. Don't call it a combined QLD/NSW country team. It's called managing expectations, especially to those of us who play the game outside the Brisbane and Sydney comps. As for crowds, it's a Lions game FFS. If...

    Country v B&I Lions

I'm slightly weirded out by this. Heelers v Cockatoos prior to a combined Heelers/Cockatoos team. Since this is the case, obviously the decision to bring in non-country players was made long ago and this is the band-aid to make sure everyone gets a jersey....

    Country v B&I Lions

Does anyone know if there will be a curtain raiser, and who it'll be? I hope it's a couple of the local teams, makes for a great story to play before a Lions game. Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk 2

    Country v B&I Lions

yourmatesam It wouldn't surprise me if this is what happens. It's been bloody annoying up here that Gold and Sunshine Coast Premier Grade (Brisbane Comp) players have been allowed to play in the regional teams (there are still internal comps in these areas) which makes it hard for Downs who have...

Sorry about the multiple entries. Put the first couple of entries into the suggested threads then they've been moved here. I guess I'm clear about what I think about the idea! :)

    Country v B&I Lions

Agree with you, Hugh. Whole heartedly! Regional representation was an honour to be picked for, and was generally (though not always) picked on the best available players. It is one of the best ways for clubs to share recognition throughout the area for the sport. From regional, it moved onto...

    Country v B&I Lions

I was very disappointed when I read Iain Payten's article this morning regarding picking 'Country Origin' players. Why call it a combined country match? It should be a combined Heelers & Cockatoos team. I get bloody annoyed that Gold & Sunshine Coast premier players are picked in Qld Country and...
