Round 3: Moana Pasifika v Rebels - Friday 8 March 2024
Both teams are coming off wins in Melbourne, and looking for the nxt victory. The Rebels scored a big win against Moana in 2023, but won't have it as easy this time around. Even this early in the season, a must-win for both teams.- oztimmay

Lyndsey is not fuckin about. Love it. So far, we've seen limited comms from the Melbourne Rebels "board" (let's continue to use that name for now), but what they've provided has been bang on point. I hope this continues over to actions to help save the Rebels.- oztimmay

To this day, I still can't understand why Gibbo got the scrum penalty in the 40th. We'd won the scrum, and the wheel looked legal to me (forward momentum, then twist). Rando gus penalty generator time...- oztimmay

That Age article makes for grim reading. RA wants to liquidate, but the MRRU board say otherwise. Judge agreed and gave them 60 extra days. As DC said, strap in for a bumpy few months.- oztimmay

Probably both. I won't doubt the commitment of the board members; many have given their own hard-earned money to fund the Rebels. But also a useful mitigation strategy to reduce their debt and protect what they have left. Honestly, I feel it's more focused on saving the Rebels.- oztimmay

Still in court right now? From another group I'm in: I believe the previous directors want a deed of company arrangement so that the Administrators can review the prior directors claims that RA owes MRRU approx $8m and see whether this can be pursued- oztimmay
