    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd guess a full TT would garner a better TV deal, both here and overseas. Partially because you have many more games to sell, and partially because you'd have greater interest in overseas markets.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I tend to agree with this. Super AU into Super TT may not be viable long term, but for now it's the best option we have. And that's fine. We don't have to have all the answers now, especially with COVID still around. Who knows when 'normal' will resume. And there are other factors too...

TT Rnd 1: Highlanders v Reds

The Highlanders/Reds HT/FT double is $10. If the starting XV can hang with the Clan in the first 40 then I can see them finishing over the top of them.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Pretty sure Fox has locked the AFL and NRL for an extended period of time. Kayo are worried as for the first time they have a genuine rival, albeit small at this point. They'd be worried that Stan keeps picking up smaller sports to the point they have a decent offering PLUS a good...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So can I rain on the parade for just a second? Super AU final was great, but I wonder if it's a one-off phenomenon. Firstly because it happened in the one place it ever could happen - Brisbane. The only other place that might be able to produce a similar crowd/atmosphere is Perth, and...

    Waratahs 2022

And that might be true, but in that case I'd want us to then go after a top tier prop. Then a top tier hooker. Then a top tier centre. Then a top tier wing/FB. Then if we can get none of those, maybe we think about another backrower.

Super Rugby AU Grand Final - Reds v Brumbies - Saturday 8th May 2021

I bet Leckie and Berry are very happy they didn't have Spidercam, though. At the time the try was scored I saw the Brumbies player gesturing for a knock-on, and it made a bit of sense to me given the way the ball came out of the ruck. Thor was running left but somehow the ball came out on his...

    Waratahs 2022

These things are never either/or, it's not like there's a menu of free agent players we pick from where choosing one means ignoring others. The article doesn't mention the most critical detail - the asking price. And I'm betting as an international class player he isn't coming cheap. So the...

    Wallabies 2021

To be fair, I said the same thing when it seemed Argentina were a shemozzle with massive injury and COVID issues last year. Boy was I looking forward to a few easy wins.

    Lions in South Africa 2021

One of the least intimidating Lions squads I can remember. That backline looks very light on experience. The Boks have injury issues of their own, but I struggle to see how the Lions can beat them on their home turf, crowds or no crowds.

    Wallabies 2021

There's a big element of 'beggars can't be choosers' about this whole thing. I'm just happy to have some test footy against NH opposition, in a three test series which is a great format. I'll be watching every game, and will try to get to the Sydney test. The SCG isn't a great venue but...

    Wallabies 2021

Maybe. We need a term for this. Like a reverse Giteau rule - the Leroy Houston rule?

    Wallabies 2021

Neither do I. I don't think he's that good. I wouldn't pick him. But given he's made a squad there's clearly something Rennie sees in him that I do not.

    Wallabies 2021

Hooker is a fascinating selection decision. Kaitu'u is a good player but does he scream test calibre? Not sure. But you could say that about every option I think. If I'm picking a team tomorrow I'd probably pick BPA as he's the incumbent, he stepped up last year and his form now is fairly...

    Waratahs 2022

It's been two weeks and Alan Jones is yet to throw his hat in the ring. Is he OK? Someone needs to check on him ASAP.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Why not bring back the Ricoh Cup? Just have the Super teams play each other a few more times, sans Wallabies. After the club season, take it to regional and suburban locations. It keeps the brand recognition, allows future stars to cut their teeth with good rugby and uses existing coaches...

    Yeah that's bloody great news.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It goes without saying that participation numbers are dubious. But there's reason for optimism, because they have ALWAYS been dubious. It's not like they only started including school clinics, 7s carnivals etc as fully participating players in 2021. So there is still something to be said...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I disagree. The political comparison isn't valid, as pollies need to be taken seriously. Constant satirical beat-ups may hurt their vote and it's understandable they get anxious about it. But sport? I think it's fine. Any coverage is good coverage. And the Betoota hits were never about rugby...

Don't want to promote a rival product in 9/Stan Sports.
