The current issue with Stan's coverage in bars/pubs....

That's interesting Runner, and entirely predictable that there would be a fair chunk of people like your mates - general sports fans who can't be bothered/can't afford an extra streaming service just to watch rugby. Do you think they will tune back in for the Wallabies games, which will be on FTA?

You don't even need to change the input settings. 9Gem is a channel on the Foxtel system, channel 164.

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

All the more reason to be devastated if we lose to them, then!

    Wallabies 2021

Let's leave the personal stuff out of it and just stick to the rugby. We're all passionate and one-eyed*, so just accept it and move on. *Except me, the only truly unbiased poster on this forum.

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

Genuinely though Derpus, if we lose the bid to the USA or Russia then you'd talk seriously about a SANZAAR breakaway. Especially after what happened to South Africa in the bid for 2023. You don't want to put the mockers on it, but it's really hard to see us losing the bid at the present time...

    Wallabies 2021

Irrelevant. With so many losses, what does that say about his form? I can't pick him after 23 straight losses, even if he was playing for a completely different side.

    Wallabies 2021

Rennie's language is really strong in backing him in. Not much doubt in the decision, it seems.

    Waratahs 2022

I'd have behavioural issues too if I played on the end of the greatest backline in Super Rugby history, and reached the dizzying highs of the 2014 Super Rugby title. Nothing would compare to that feeling, so you'd spend your life chasing it, just to feel that thrill one more time.

    Waratahs 2022

Is he? Where has he been playing? The last I saw of him was the 2014 final. Now THAT was a game. Remember when we won the comp? What a night. That first 15 minutes is still burned into my memory as some of the best rugby I've seen. Bernard Foley throwing long balls to Kurtley, kicking over...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That's such a simplistic way to look at our success in the 98-03 period. There were so many reasons why we succeeded in that era, and things fell away after about 2005. Changes to the structure of Super Rugby played a part, but I can't buy the 'let's go back to the 90s' argument that guys...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

That's true, but it's easy to be responsive and engaging when people are having minor tech issues that would relate more to their own setups than to any failures on the part of Stan. I don't want to get on their backs too much, but for a streaming service this is a pretty big fail. Just an...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Has Stan said anything after Saturday night? Been an interesting silence given this is a fairly predictable occurrence that I'd assume they would have a PR/comms plan for.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think any 'champions league' would be viewed by people as a second, separate tournament, as Super TT is being viewed as now.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

How is that like Super rugby? The old Super Rugby conference format is very different to the Super AU format, surely that's easy to see. One is a seperate, self-contained tournament in its own right, the other is just a system of qualification in a larger round robin format. There wasn't a...

    Wallabies 2021

What's his background Reg? Is he going to be here longer term? As much as I'd love another Radike I'm not sure how I'd feel about another Caleb Timu.

    Wallabies 2021

Wallaby questions I want answered in the next few weeks: Who starts at loosehead in the first test? Sio is the incumbent, Bell is the future, Slipper the returning hope. Can any of our hookers learn to throw straight? Folau Fainga'a still hasn't got it, neither has Uelese, BPA or Poreki...

    Wallabies 2021

In an odd sort of game, I thought three Waratahs showed enough to suggest they will play good minutes in gold this year- Swinton, Bell and Gordon. And really I suspect they will be the only three from that team. But they were head and shoulders above the other 12 blokes out there.

    Waratahs 2022

Fair enough. I haven't watched his scrumming that closely this year, but I do recall last year he did admirably well for the Wallabies at the set piece in his stints off the bench.

    Waratahs 2022

Surely you of all people know to be patient with young props FP. He's still at least five years away from maturity!

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

You can't believe anything from anyone. Nobody is impartial. The truth will be somewhere in the middle, I don't think the ratings were amazingly fantastical, but I'm also sure things aren't nearly as bad as News may want us to believe. The Wallabies vs France figures will be fascinating, given...
