    Wallabies 2024

I am saying that for a lot of his test career Koroibete has been world class. I don't think we saw much of that in 2023 but largely I'd put that down to the backline being pretty awful in general starting with that 9/10/12 axis. I don't think Jake Gordon on his own has really shifted things...

You could probably say the same about Koroibete for the most part. I'd put it down to our backline being pretty disastrous. 9/10/12 have generally been bad and that has been reflected in our lack of stability in those positions.

I don't think there's any connection between whether or not someone is a good bloke and whether or not they're a good writer etc.

    Wallabies 2024

I don't think that is a reasonable definition of world class. Generally there's very little difference between the top few players at each position. I think it's more whether a player would hold their own against those guys on a consistent basis (i.e. they wouldn't look out of place if they...

Also had half their squad parachuted out by RA so swings and roundabouts.

It does feel like if you don't pick Hamish Stewart now then you're never going to pick him.

So he is. I just found him. Wild. https://www.polsinelli.com/harry-d-jones

I genuinely can't work it out. Is he a trustafarian? He seems to travel the world attending rugby matches while recording a few podcasts and writing a few articles.

I'm certainly not one to agree with plenty of what Haribald Jones says but he's pretty scathing of a few recent debutants. https://www.theroar.com.au/2024/08/20/can-joe-put-humpty-together-why-schmidts-wallabies-will-benefit-from-boks-bashing/

Bond Uni I think, so it isn't that.

I wonder if we'll see McReight named captain once he is back? With Bell and Tupou available it becomes a difficult (poor) choice not to have both of them on the field for the better part of the game.

I agree he was solid in the first Springboks test but he didn't pack a contested scrum last weekend. Presumably we will see plenty of Taniela Tupou regardless.

    Wallabies 2024

We'll start as fairly solid underdogs. Line is currently 6.5 points and we are paying $2.80 for the win.

    Wallabies 2024

What's most impressive here is that a 52 year old is topping the tackle stats in the Rugby Championship ;) I think it is somewhere in between. We'd expect a backrower to be right up there among our top tacklers. For South Africa it definitely makes sense to run at the smallest forward both...

He was also brought into camp in Perth for the week so presumably Schmidt liked what he saw and thinks he is ready to go.

And Tom Robertson is probably the sixth prop in the group. I'm unsure why Zane Nonggorr isn't included. There doesn't seem to be mention of an injury.

A week after suggesting how outrageous it was that Angus Bell was being selected I'd have thought you'd be a little more circumspect.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

Zero. He took a sabbatical this year to study.

I think it's a definite red card. I can't see it not resulting in a suspension.
