Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

Coaching on defence seems to have been addressed to a degree. IE different setups with less moving parts. The jury is definitely still out but at the very least there has been signs of change. Long way to go if our target is < 3 tries per match. Personell changes will be the usual debate. Is...

Wallabies v Springboks Saturday 9th Sept NIB Stadium

This game will end up as a watershed game for the rest of the year and possibly out to the RWC 2019. Resurgent Bokke under a good coach v's a resurgent Wallaby outfit who layed down a marker in Dunedin. The biggest issues from last weekend were the scrum, the defense (high missed tackle count)...

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

I have looked at it again. Seems like TPN should have had Scott Barrett and KB (Kurtley Beale) should have had Reid. Foley was watching BB who was sitting behind for the second man play. Very skillful by the AB's Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

First of all, I didn't actually sit and watch the whole game. Having said that, I have a question regarding Foley's defense. In the final try Scott Barrett makes a pass to Kieran Reid who goes through a hole then passes to TJ Perenara. It seemed to me that the defender on Reid was Foley and it...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

Great stats FF (Folau Fainga'a). The biggest disparity in the stats seems to be that the top tackler for the AB's was Cane with 23 made. The wallaby highest tackler was Hanigan with 8. I don't know what to make of this. Anyone got a comment? Were Canes tackles dominant / behind the gain line / result in a...

I think Bernie has improved since Mick Byrne joined the Aussie ranks.

Yes he was good. Hope Australia don't lose him. Also, Is Laurie Fischer locked in at the Brumbies? QLD, NSW and Rebels all need better coaches.

A pragmatic problem; Do you pick a backline who can all defend in their designated positions in order to establish if the system we use on D is any good? Principle here is; Keep it Simple, everyone knows their job because it coincides with the number on their back. Other principle is that a...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

Quoting myself from last Thursday; Lucky the AB's clocked off after 50 mins or the 20 point spread would have been decimated. My comments last week were only on the forwards as this is where I have an ounce of knowledge. After Saturdays game I might contact the ARU to see if they want a...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

It's strong on attack though and hopefully they click. I think it's the most exciting backline we've named in a long time. Pity we are not taking them on in Oztag

Moore is a surprise. I would have TPN. I'm not impressed by Hanigan at this stage. McMahon is a good call. Robertson must be better than I give him credit for. Too small. Not feeling very confident. AB's by 20.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Obviously there license agreements with the Rebels and the Force do not have a clause that allows for the ARU to pull the license in the event that SANZAAR want to cull some teams. Maybe any ARC and other super franchise contracts need to make allowances for the contraction in the Aussie rugby...

This is my understanding of recent history. Pulver inherits the S18 debacle with the 5 franchises and has to become the toecutter. I think he is getting fair results given the clusterfuck he has been handed.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Fair enough on Pulver. Given the cards he has been dealt he is having a crack. Fair enough on the 4 team model going forward. S18 conferences stink. Super Rugby is here to stay because no one has a suitable alternative. Personally I would torpedo the rebels but there is likely to be plenty of...

    Unpopular opinion thread

Good game last night. Cringey commentary; Joey Johns is a jumbled mess of platitudes. Ray Warren is a loop of platitudes about the greatest game of all. Gus Gould - No no no no no.

    Reds 2018

It seems that the forwards are watching and waiting for George Smith to do something amazing. This is not how a team should operate. Might be worth starting Smith from the bench purely to give the others a mental wake up. IE. which one of you passengers is going to do the heavy lifting now...

    Reds 2017

Its a fine line. There wouldn't be a problem if they were winning. Supporters need to adjust their expectations. There is most definitely a coaching issue in your team. Have the senior players undermined a good coach or is the coach out of his depth?
