Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Some good and a lot of poor play from the Wallabies tonight. Looked to be well in the game at half time, but they were very ordinary in the second half. On some individuals : . I thought Harry Wilson was quite poor. His skills let him down on too many occasions, and at least twice in the...

    Not his first unfortunately.

Typical of his form since he returned. Arguably very good at scrum and not much chop otherwise.

    Brumbies 2025

I hope all of those uncontracted players are in the Brumbies system somewhere. Especially Jarrah McLeod who looks to be a special player, big, fast, good feet and hands and plays 12 where we don't have a lot of quality depth in this country. I'm bloody sure the Force would be very interested in...

    Brumbies 2024

A few of the Brumbies straight out of this year's U20s. McLeod and Pritchard are the current U20s centre pair if I'm not mistaken. Good to see Lachlan Hooper back in action.

    Brumbies 2025

He has been out with injury but I don’t have the details. I've posted elsewhere that I think Nabolakasi would be a good pickup from the Rebels to provide depth in the backrow. Anyone know his current situation?

    Brumbies 2025

Thanks Slim. The backrow is looking light on atm. A couple of injuries and someone like Tom Hooper might have to fill in, but then leaving the second row a bit light. Is Lachlan Hooper ready to step up?

Some, maybe all or most, of AK (Andrew Kellaway)'s missed tackles were one on one in the backline. His missed tackle on at least one occasion led to the linebreak that ended in a try to the ABs. He has been pretty woeful in defence all year long, even when ke played 15 for the Rebels.

You know Darcy personally? Is he such a handicap to a team? Played 14 matches in Super Rugby 2024, and not a single card of any colour. You don't suppose he might ahve learnt to keep the anger/aggression controlled after his hit on Taupea? On the current second row, it seems to me that LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is...

Starting to get a solid look about the team. Think Pietsch offers more than an out of form Koro, while Flook gives the bench a bit more versatility. We seem to be heading in a positive direction with selections and hopefully that will reflect in results soon.

Like me BH, he probably thought you were not so much a fan as a spokesman for the Tahs.

Luckily, Tom has a habit of doing that from the fullback spot.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Slim, I am always a bit mystifed by people wanting the change the best (backline or forward) player in a particular team with one who is struggling to hold his own position. Happily, few coaches take notice. Tom Wright owns the fullback spot at the present time, and is only improving with more...

    Refereeing decisions

I know Cyclo wants the discussion to end, but this is just an absolute over-simplification. A support runner can legally obstruct a ball runner but only if he is behind, and hence onside, that ball runner. If he's in front of the carrier then he's in much the same situation as the blockers for a...

You don't think Williams and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) are competing for the TH Lock spot, with Frost and Canham the options at LH Lock?
  16. Brumby Runner

    Refereeing decisions

Nah. Players in front of the catcher are offside the moment he touches the ball. If they or one of them hinder a chaser as they invariably do then it is clearly obstruction.

    Refereeing decisions

Obstruction. Has the same effect of a ball runner running behind one or more of his own teammates and effectively stops the opposition from contesting the ball.

    Refereeing decisions

Strewth, how in anybody's language can that be described as being in competition for the ball?
