    Brumbies 2024

Morgan Turinui really gave him a big wrap on tonight's episode of Between the Sticks on STAN. Is impressing some people in the know. Hopefully the Brumbies are suitably impressed to keep investing in him.

Reckon he's ready to step up to Super level?

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

I posted this on last week's thread, but it is probably just as relevant on this thread. Bernard Foley was on Between the Sticks last night, and commented that in his time kickoff restarts were only practised for about 5 minutes at the end of sessions. Michael Hooper agreed. However, he made...

    Refereeing decisions

Didn't one of those "fake" injuries take one of their locks off the field at that point and was replaced by Lavanini? Lavanini played something like 79 minutes of the game.

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

Bernard Foley was on Between the Sticks last night, and commented that in his time kickoff restarts were only practised for about 5 minutes at the end of sessions. Michael Hooper agreed. However, he made one other comment that I thought was salient also. The fields they play on in Argentina are...

He's over there isn't he. I would imagine he'll get some time off the bench in the next test.

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

Just watched the mini on STAN. Strange that nobody has questioned the rolling maul try to Argentina. There is a definite truck and trailer after the initial maul disintegrates and it directly leads to the try. The Argentine ball carrier is shielded by another player going backwards to the try...

    Brumbies 2024

I see Jarrah McLeod had a big hand in Royals JID Cup win scoring and setting up tries. At 192cm and 105kg, he looks to be an ideal build for the No 12 spot in the Brumbies some time soon. Could be something out of the box on his U20s and club form.

True Dru and I definitely prefer the second fly atm. There were better inolvements from the outside backs in this game, especially Ikitau and I think that made us more dangerous in attack.

His couple of hospital passes in the minutes beforehand were woeful, but that one to Jorgensen was catchable and should have been caught. I agree with Dru that had he caught it, Jorgo would probably have been stopped soon after as it took too long to set up the play.

On the ball re Stewart but I think he might be a better all round prospect than Paisami who I am not at all impressed with at test match level.

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

The negativity came first from the git who criticised the pass from Lolesio. Noah was probably our worst out there tonight but his hesitation in passing to the outside looked to be because Stewart wasn't in position to take the ball. However, Ikitau had his best game in a while and filled the 12...

    Waratahs 2025

Noah is the most like-for-like among today's 10s, with his less than effective short kicking game, his less than effective running game and his inclination to just send the ball to his centres without setting up great attacking plays. He outshines Nard in some aspects - he can kick the ball...

If Joe names Gleeson on the bench who would you think he'd replace during the game?

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

Two out of two home and away. Pretty sure the Brumbies were significantly better than the Force in Super this year and probably as close as it could be to dominating them. And really, most observers would say Lolesio had a stronger year than Donaldson. Donaldson and Stewart were not individually...

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

Ahh, but only because Tua was ineligible and is now unavailable as well. Still, if Super Rugby form was sincerely the selection criterion for the Wallabies, as measured by success in the 2024 Super Rugby competition, then the backline would look like : 9 Lonergan, 10 Lolesio, 11 Koroibete, 12 Whoknows, 13...

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

I simply cannot accept any comment that says Stewart and Donaldson combined brilliantly for the Force. How many games did the Force win this year? And where did they finish on the ladder? They were just one of the also-rans, easy beats and no-one performed in any way that could be described as...

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

Our backline has been very meh for quite a while now, even with Kerevi in his best form I don't think we were winning any more than losing. While I have always been unimpressed with Hamish Stewart in Super Rugby, the situation with the 12 spot is dire and it will be good to see if he can step up...

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

I am a bit uneasy that we just don't have the players at 9 and 10 to implement an attacking backline. Nic kicks the ball away too much, Gordon is probably too much of an individualistic player, neither of Lolesio nor Donaldson seem to have the passing game to set backline plays up, Lynagh looks...
