With modesty and character like this, no wonder Waverley aren't fans!

He was a part of the coaching team that took St Pat's to 2nd in the club championship, I can't imagine they will be looking for a replacement. Personally, I've always enjoyed the discussion and arguments that happen on this forum. I have taken part in most of them myself! Yet I have never seen...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

You'll notice he didn't play against St Pat's in their previous game, obviously I don't get a say in what other clubs agree to play against. Bringing it up on this forum is not 'doing something about it', just a great stimulant for conversation and intellectual debate (I'll let you know when...

Ahhh yes, divisional barbs, well done! When you're ready to address the safety concerns of an over-age player competing in an age restricted competition, let me know what corner of Concord Oval you would like to meet at!

The argument 'we've been breaking the rules for half the year, so that makes it ok' seems a bit iffy, but well done on it being approved! Like I said, if it's allowed for one team, it should be allowed for all teams, don't you agree? I remember a few weeks ago when the request to play said prop...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

It is being reported that UNSW have received approval from Subbies to play a grade-aged player in their colts Grand final on Saturday. Interesting to say the least. I'd suggest all other teams in all divisions should try the same!

Anyone else wondering where this guy read 'a lot of chat' about colleagues. Think I've seen them mentioned twice all year

I agree, you'd be hard pressed finding a club in finals that don't have players playing down, the only club I can think of is Epping, because it's impossible for anyone in 2s to be playing down.... 4 1st graders that somehow qualified for 2nd grade finals? Don't sound like 1st graders to me...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

I think this proves my only point? 4 1st graders in a team that isn't 1st grade. Again, feel sorry for UNSW who weren't able to compete Don't know what your obsession is with talking in person, we all see the unfairness for what it is without needing a personal conversation with a rugby tragic...

I apologise, asking clubs after round 1 of a season if they'd like to move up a division or to have another 2 full rounds of byes should be expected and appreciated! Feeling for UNSW who had to play against 1st graders and 3rds graders in their 2nds and 4ths finals games.

Shouldn't be celebrated at all. To think there's clubs that participated fully in all grades all season just to get kicked out of finals by a club taking advantage of a dodgy system, dissapointing.

Would love to agree but doubt this is the case. The Polynesian nations find it difficult to get players for these mid year games due to Shute Shield not being very cooperative. It's also too expensive to fly proper representatives and pay them a convincing match payment for them to bother...

Two Blues And they were all 3rd Graders. But yes I agree, they could go well but haven't been able to play to their apparent potential yet this year

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Geez everyone comes out of the woodwork to remind you of one bloke making an extremely bold call 6 months ago! I'm sure they're all from extremely well populated and successful clubs of their own! A great day out at Newport today. Pats finish the regular season with 3 minor premierships and...

I'm sure there's some people here with better eyesight than me but I haven't been able to locate this 'welcoming handshake' or the associated 'haymakers' Looked like a bunch of shirt fronting to me

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Yep correct St Pat's 1st grade hopes are extremely slim. If I have read the rules correctly, a bonus point win will get them into the finals regardless of other results as UNSW don't have a game. Sure to be a great day at Newport!

    Sydney Subbies 2024

3 grades coming 1st and 2 grades coming 2nd, doesn't seem as bad as you're making out? I'm sure having more than one team to monitor each week is out of the ordinary for you but a club is more than one team.

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Epping 2nd Grade is full of players who played in their first grade side last year, should they be allowed to play? Seems odd that Epping gets to play their strongest available side but other teams don't.

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Unfortunately I think this may be a flash in the pan for Epping. 3 Yellow cards for Pats in 4's and an understrength 2's leads to a few unfortunate results, wouldn't say a 10 point loss is a 'comfortable' win for any team. The upside down Epping experiment taking another victim I guess.

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Have to agree with this. A few clubs in Division 1 are proving Subbies place a higher priority on number of players at a club, not number of wins the club totals. Colleagues a beneficiary of this rule in the last few years. Certainly the performance gap between the top 5 Division 1 clubs and the...
