It’s because it is easy to pay two games of cricket in a week. Most contracted players in every state but NSW are private school boys. Probably why historically NSW is the strongest state in the game
  2. Rebel man

    Australian Rugby / RA

60% of AFL players are private school boys. Obviously academic scholarships skew those numbers. Cricket in every state but NSW is heavily reliant on private schools

    Australian Rugby / RA

If private schools are self sufficient even more of a reason to put money into different pathways.
  4. Rebel man

    Australian Rugby / RA

Because the game will only go backwards if we narrow our focus to private schools. That approach may have worked in 1990 but not now
  5. Rebel man

Cool what has that got to do with anything? The majority of kids don’t go to private schools. You are much better putting money into something like the Rebels shield than you are just going back to private schools

Rugby won’t be back in 10-15 years as the game will be dead here in 10-15 years if you cut the rebels. Secondly E-sports gets people involved with supporting the game. The NFL grows via Madden, the NBA via 2k and soccer via FIFA

Lol the laughing reaction wasn’t enough. Your grand solution is to focus on private school rugby ins Sydney and Brisbane. Laughable

Round 13 Rebels v Chiefs - Friday 17 May at AAMI at 7:35pm EST

100% a Red where is the mitigation? Absolute dog shot. Not sure he would be willing to stand toe to toe and swing one. Was pathetic we talk about player wellfare and protecting the head and we let that go

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

It’s almost on par now. With more and more money getting poured in by the NRL. Known friends who’s kids have made the switch

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Doubt that, didn’t even know it was on. Probably would have had a look if I did

Round 13 Rebels v Chiefs - Friday 17 May at AAMI at 7:35pm EST

We were poor on attack and that was amplified when Gordon was off especially with Kellaway out
  12. Rebel man

Round 13 Rebels v Chiefs - Friday 17 May at AAMI at 7:35pm EST

Berry had a mare at the end. All the chiefs players go straight off their feet at the brake down and DMac takes over 60 to kick his penalty. A bonus point should secure finals and fuck if we had to scrum it may have got turned over and they score 7. But a few Chiefs very lucky not to be in the...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

100% massive sense of entitlement from those north of the border. It’s embarrassing really
  14. Rebel man

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

100%, it will overtake rugby soon as a participation sport but less people play league here than soccer or union yet the Storm get the crowds
  15. Rebel man

Round 13 Rebels v Chiefs - Friday 17 May at AAMI at 7:35pm EST

That was disgusting should have been a straight red it was an act of cowardice

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Victorian first and foremost. Growing up I always wanted a side in super rugby, we got one I supported it for its whole journey and if they take it away then I am done with the wallabies
  17. Rebel man

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Well if Melbourne had a team again I would come back to the game. Until then nothing, I have no interest in a national team that actively excludes my state
  18. Rebel man

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I’ll be done with rugby too. It’s sad
  19. Rebel man

    Waratahs 2025

Cherry pick all the Vic talent but punt the Rebels typical. If I were in their shoes as a Victorian I’d go overseas and turn my back on the Wallabies

When was the last time 120k went to an origin game?
