It's not my fault that you are simple so yes - you did miss a lot. Just because there is a period of time before the full effect of something takes place doesn't mean it didn't happen. That is just dumb. The Brumbies don't necessarily need players from the Force to benefit from them being cut...

Grateful? I'm simply pointing out the facts cos hoggy doesn't know them. The last 25 years have not been all terrible. In fact, they include a 15 year period that almost every other rugby nation would die for. And instead of wanting to return to being a Top 3 country, some people are longing...

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Fans are not stupid though and the idea that supporters would flock to see the Rebels in Super Rugby AU (a competition they only won 3 out of 8 games in BTW) knowing that this same team would get trounced by almost every other team in the equivalent competition...

2 x RWC 4 x Super Rugby titles 10 x ranked in Top 3 countries. Australia didn't really drop out of the Top 3 until 2015. So in the last 25 years, Australia was easily one of the best rugby nations - it's only been in the last 10 that there has been a big drop off.

And yet fans often attend games against NZ teams better than they do against local teams.

Do you really think fan engagement will go up? Fan engagement went up in 2021 because we were coming out of Covid. Engagement went up in NZ as well. And it has gone back to normal now that people are allowed out of their house and can go to events whenever they like. What happens to fan...

If you guys really want a laugh, let's look at what happened when Australia played domestic competition only and then we had cross-over games with NZ in 2021. Super Rugby AU had the 5 Australian teams with the Force being brought back. The Reds won winning 7 out of 8 games with the Brumbies...

Yeah....a whole two seasons..... but sure - let's take a look In 2017 the last year with the Force, the Brumbies made the Super Rugby Finals based purely on winning the conference with 34 points. If Finals had been based purely on points, no Australian team would have made it with the Brumbies...

Yes there is....and a lot of ex-players would tell you the same thing. No you don't. Just like you don't have any other case study or model that shows another rugby nation that has a domestic competition that is self-funding and doesn't need top down financing. What we DO know is when...

What evidence is there that Australia needs more teams?

And perhaps it takes a little time before the effects of expansion are fully felt. If you don't think expansion had any impact, what do you put the decline in Australian Super Rugby results down to? How will leaving Super Rugby help produce better players and more competitive teams? 2021 saw Super Rugby...

And from what I understand, billionaires and corporations own a lot of teams in France and Japan?

Honest question.....Is there a model of this already working somewhere? NPC loses money, I don't know if the CC makes money, the NRC lost money..... which rugby nation doesn't rely on a top down funding model? And can we just basically copy what they do?

I don't want to make it about the Rebels. I'm just saying that since that decision has been made and now the Brumbies are entering into this centralisation plan, I think Australia are on the right path. I don't see how leaving Super Rugby would help make Australian players better or AUstralian...

Yeah.....NZ has really struggled for results since the Rebels entered Super Rugby.

Do you think that all players are equal? Having more players doesn't equate to better players. Since expanding the pool of rugby players in 2011 for the Rebels, Australia has dropped from 2nd to 10th and all the Australian Super Rugby teams have become less competitive. Super Rugby is where 5...

Only due to the 'ridiculous obsession' part. Again - getting out of Super Rugby won't go very far in obtaining the on-field success that has been missing for the last 10-15 years. I don't know if there are any 'quick fixes' but perhaps turning things around won't take as long as we think. Some don't...

Super Rugby is not the reason that rugby in Australia is struggling and getting out of it won't help on-field success - which is all fans really care about. Apart from the ridiculous obsession to keep adding teams who weren't ready to compete at that level, the biggest mistake was made by NZ...
