Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

You’re using team achievements to rank individual careers which is kind of proving my point. If the Wallabies were a better team all reputations would be greatly enhanced. Healy is a decent scrummager workload type prop. I’d say he’s a slightly better scrum operator but slightly worse around...

    Queensland Reds 2025

So many off contract after next season. 21 out of 28 players. I think the championship window is opening for us that’s how much faith I have in the current squad and staff but it could be closing soon too.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Again I’d have to dispute that. If we had 15 Slippers we’d have won more games. Way more. Would you say Cian Healy is a snapshot of the problems Ireland are having? They’ve had almost identical careers and I’d say he’s a shade less of a player than Slipper. Yet they’re ranked number 2. I...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I’m not sure I’d have Slipper as a starter in a world XV at any point in his career however I’d be surprised if there were more than 3 or 4 players who were CLEARLY better than him at any point in time since he debuted. Wallaby’s scrum was a laughing stock before his arrival and he’s not even...

I think Daugunu would not be the worst option as a backup to a backup. He can kick better than some posters on the Wallabies thread would admit and is genuinely quite intuitive these days. Agree we need to bolster 15 though.

    Wallabies 2024

Yes, it’s the reality of our selection pool. Even if the best XV is currently playing in Australia it would still be of benefit to open selections for depth and competitiveness reasons.

    Queensland Reds 2025

Could be as simple as they actually did like where Creighton was at in the moment and then the u20s happened. They were using both of them as 10/15 cover but I’d be persuadable to having just HMP, Lynagh and JOC (James O'Connor) as 10s. Maybe JOC (James O'Connor) as 12 cover as well.
  8. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2025

Somewhat surprising given JOC (James O'Connor)’s age but it may be a signal that a young half is about to be signed, possibly Gordon.
  9. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

It would be, but on the other hand imagine if we lost one or both of them to injury by over playing them. Our prop depth has seemingly vanished overnight and we are stuck in between a rock and a hard place, I feel. Kailea and Nonggorr are the future. Hopefully they are both available for...

    Wallabies 2024

I would counter to say that 2022 Italy and that the turning point this weekend was while he was on the field. But I’m walking away from this now because I actually do think he was one of our better players last match.

    Wallabies 2024

Yes agree to disagree. I’d love for you to be right and Donaldson comes through the pack as a great 10 but we have lost some bad tests with him whilst Lolesio does seem to get us wins even when he plays poorly, which I think is down to those basic skills being a little more refined.
  12. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

I’m not basing that opinion on 15 minutes, just using it as an example. I think Donaldson has struggled for kicking at test level. Agree with you that if the Brumbies had brought up Donaldson he’d be a better player. Alas.
  13. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

I think we saw a good game (relative to the rest of the team) by Donaldson on the weekend and the 321 votes are fair but in my mind it’s only solidified my view that Lolesio is the number one option at 10 currently. Don’t get me wrong, Lolesio has had some genuinely awful games this year. IMO...

    League Targets

I think we will but in France. Hard to see him getting up for the battle of the Hume or heading over to Otago in winter again.
  15. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2025

It isn’t hard for people to google the age of players so hopefully it’s a young squaddie that hasn’t had too many resources poured into them just yet. Ryan would be pretty crushing for a Reds fan; that sort of hype just doesn’t come around that often. Reminds me of Radike and early Tupou - the...

    Wallabies 2024

Very funny the comments Koroibete has made about Wests since his time there.
  17. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

I love Koroibete as a player. Rugby is his sport. I don’t think his mongrel/explosivity combination is really valued as much in League which more values top end speed for finishing.
  18. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

Don’t get me wrong, they are incredible athletes. My only point is that we shouldn’t be denigrating Rugby as a sport when it doesn’t deserve it. It’s a pinnacle of athleticism for these athletes.

    Queensland Reds 2025

I always wonder how they justify charging more for gold than silver on that map. Give me behind the sticks over the dead ball line any day.
  20. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

Definitely fitness and probably a bit of explosiveness on average across the park but I would argue that what Bell and Tupou or Etzebeth are able to do for example is a higher degree of physicality than say a Paul Gallen hitting it up. Tupou playing 50-60 mins on average is akin to the average...
