    Queensland Reds 2025

Strong squad but looking light at 10 and 15. JOC (James O'Connor) filled a lot of holes for us, not least an experience gap.

That puts them on par with Kerry Packer. Too good a deal to pass up.

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

If they can’t roll through the forwards they really struggle. Both teams were rusty and clearly nervous in shit conditions but NZ just outworked and out-accuracied Ireland through the middle by 1%. There were only a few occasions when Ireland looked like the mad max big rig they typically are...

    Lions Tour 2025

Did anyone else just try to buy Suncorp tickets for the Wallabies match on release? That was, in a word, shocking. Buttons can’t be clicked that fast. Reds tickets procured for myself and Sword of Justness which was actually not too outrageous. Accor tickets much easier to procure than Suncorp...

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

One of these days poms will learn to count to 23. Not this year though ☹️

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Did they receive a contract offer from a super club? Do we want to win rep games? Idealistically I think we are too far apart and we just don’t know the thought processes of these children so I’m out of this thread from now.

Your own post #341 as the most recent example on this very page? Not sure I can engage with you any more sorry.

It has many times on this thread in this very argument.

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Wright and Elson come to mind straight away. Heaps of guys playing pro rugby right now have in one way or another associated with League. Several current wallabies have played in the NRL or have a league background. It’s an idealistic view to think otherwise. High performance organisations don’t...

This idea of giving kids who aren’t selected on form a go because they love the sport is really preposterous to me.

But it’s schoolboy rep footy. It’s amateur and the idea is to beat other Rugby teams. If Goldman Sachs had an opportunity to take free labour from whiz kids for a summer to beat their competitors they’d absolutely take it. Those kids are not joining their competitors after but a different...

Dude what? It’s a free market society. Besides, they could just do the exact same to us.
  14. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2025

7 was in a cheeky sort of mood that day hence the outrageous off centre stance.
  15. Sword of Justice

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

But that’s my point. They do want to play rugby as well as League in the same way I want to eat steak and pizza but can’t at the same time. There’s so many reasons why a young player may choose one sport over another and if the paradigm shifts and they felt engaged playing Rugby at a high level...

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Counterpoint would be that by giving those leaguies a formative experience that they enjoy and benefit from they are more likely to engage with Super clubs down the road after their first or second NRL contracts. I think RA is essentially waiving the white flag with those players because they...

    Wallabies 2024

Do Victorians seriously call rashies ‘scratchies’, @Dctarget ? Next you’ll be telling me they don’t fall into the category of togs or something ridiculous.
  18. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

It definitely does depend on the player and where they are at in their development. The Brisbane Lions have multiple players like Zorko and Neale who apparently have only been training once a week for months at a time in recent years due to niggles and the miles in their legs. They are all...

Neither, which is quite obvious. Way too sensitive guys.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Certainly agree the supply also opens up after a cycle however I’m afraid Australia would find it difficult to access the more talented coaches in the available pool given the negative results and governance history that’s following us around now.
